Would ' Hum Dum ' turn the tide? Would ' Hum Dum ' be the one multiplex movie that would get the audience it intends to? Would the full-length movie be as interesting as the promos suggest? Would Kushan Nandy be second time lucky after the debacle of his thriller debut ' 88 Antop Hill '? Starring Romit Rajj and Anjana Sukhani who make their debut with ' Hum Dum ', the movie is the first of it's kind, at least in India, with a comedy theme revolving around a reality game show that makes you ponder over the thought - "Is money more important or love?"

Boasting of an interesting storyline, ' Hum Dum ' should be able to catch the fancy of it's target audience - the youngsters - if it is promoted even more heavily and the end product lives up the hype to ensure good word of mouth! Produced by Kiran Shyam Shroff and Kushan Nandy, ' Hum Dum ' has music by Sujeet Shetty and Rajesh Roy while Shaheen, Iqbal and Surendra Mishra write.

' Lahaul Vila ' by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan is a good youthful number elevated to greater heights due to fun choreography and colorful cinematography. A peppy tune with different lyrics and wonderful rendition, it is quite foot tapping and makes you sway to it's tunes.

A song about ambitions and reaching greater heights, ' Sitaron Se ' is a Jatin Lalit kind of a number by Shaan that is catchy and very humable. Lyrics too are of high standards and different from the routine. Choreography too is imaginative that results in the number being good overall. This track reminds of the younger Aamir Khan and should appeal to the youngsters.

Title song ' Hum Dum ' takes the melody route and surprisingly is not as impressive as one expected from a title track. It is slow and attempts to be melodious, but doesn't succeed entirely. Just about average, it is sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal (who hasn't been credited on the cover)!

Best track of the album comes up towards the middle of the album. ' Hanste Raho ' is another Jatin Lalit inspired track that reminds of ' Jawan Ho Yaaro ' from Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar . Abhijeet and Madhushree sing this feel good track that again boasts of good lyrics and has a very smooth and lively tune. A number about spreading happiness and smiles to the world, it makes for a good placement in the album after an average title song.

' Tanhaiyaan ' is a nicely executed number that relies mainly on the singer's skills with an impressive orchestra in the background. Vocals take a center stage here with both Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal making a mark in their respective solos. Depth of pain, loneliness and regret is conveyed brilliantly via lyrics that are better than the ordinary. The track would be lapped up by the broken hearts!

Composer Sujeet Shetty sings the last track of the album ' Ab Hum Hai ' that is short in duration and is on the lines of ' Tanhaiyaan '. The situational track just passes muster and doesn't do anything to enhance or deplete the prospects of the album.

' Hum Dum ' is a mixed bag of peppy, fun, love and sad tracks. None of the songs go haywire or are outright rejects. Just like the other recent release ' Fun ', ' Hum Dum ' too gains out of the 'zero expectation' factor and hence turns out to be pretty good in the end.
