This is the season of off-screen couples doubling up to set the screen ablaze with an onscreen appearance as well. While the chemistry shared between Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai is more than obvious in ' Kyun Ho Gaya Naa ', the cute pairing of Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor come together for the first time in ' Fida ' - and the effect is simply awesome! The team behind the successful ' Ishq Vishq ' - TIPS, Tauranis, director Ken Ghosh, Anu Malik, Sameer and teen heart-throb Shahid Kapoor - are back with Fida that also stars Fardeen Khan, who plays an important role in the movie. While Ishq Vishq was a frothy love story about 'Generation Next', Fida is a love story cum thriller that dares to threaten with a catch-line 'Not all love stories have the perfect ending!' Three weeks since the first promos, and the movie has already created quite a buzz! Couple of songs already on the air have been well received and it has to be seen if the other songs too measure up the expectations.

'Punjabi pop blended with club mix' - this is how one describes ' Aaja Ve Mahi ' sung exceedingly well by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan, especially the latter who despite being 40 plus does an amazing job in rendering his vocals for a 20 something guy. Beats of the number take you straight to the dance floor, rhythm is extremely catchy, singer Blaise does a fair rap'n'reggae while the interspersions by Kareena Kapoor in her husky vocals give an altogether different dimension to the number. Shahid too chips in a little but sounds extremely boyish. Sets are grand while the choreography is spellbinding. In all, a number that is sure to go a long way.

Following track ' Nazar Nazar ' is vintage Anu Malik. A song that carries his trademark stamp, it is high in melody and sung well again by Udit Narayan and Sapna Mukherjee. A fair number that makes a repeat entry as an instrumental by Bipin Panchal, do not expect it to be another ' Baazigar O Baazigar ' (from where it derives its inspiration), but enjoy till it lasts!

Alisha Chinai and Sonu Nigam do a tango in ' Maine Jisko Chaha ', a racy love track in which both the singers have changed their vocals to suit the lead stars. A track that maintains its tempo throughout, it is not an extraordinary composition but will do well when supported by good choreography (which is anyways expected given the track record of TIPS films who invest heavily on song choreography). In all an above average composition! At this moment there is a surprise in store with a ' dialogue and song' promo of ' Fida ' included in the middle of the album!

Melody makes a comeback with sugar'n'sweet mix ' Dil Mere Naa ' that is further elevated by good lyrics from Sameer. A duet by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan, though you may have heard an Anu Malik song on such lines for more than decade now, you still enjoy it as if this is a fresh composition. This is the reason why it is said that melody is always evergreen. A good number that is easy on ears and is quite enjoyable!

Anu Malik lives the golden mantra of melody even in the concluding track ' Aaj Kaho Sanam Jitna ' where although Kumar Sanu makes a belated appearance, he still makes an impact and one starts wondering why the multiple award winner singer has been lying low for last few years. Such a talented singer definitely deserves a much better deal from the industry. Alka Yagnik joins him in the middle of this well worded song and makes her presence felt again. In all, a wonderful melody that can be heard over and over again and concludes the album on a satisfying note.

' Fida ' is less on quantity with just five songs but high on quality as at least 3-4 songs stand out and will be appreciated by the music lovers. The album has everything from mass appealing dance numbers to soulful melodies. A vibrant star-cast, tried and tested track record of the producers, aggressive publicity, different theme and eye pleasing picturization of the songs will further ensure that the team has another HIT to add to their list.
