Multiplex movies are in and there is a sudden cheer for the 'New Wave Cinema' that seems to have gripped the nation. What else can be said when every week there is a release of at least one movie that boasts of being 'different' and dares to be 'crossover'. So amidst 'Joggers Park', 'Rules', 'Chupke Se', 'Mumbai Matinee' and a horde of other cinema of the same genre comes 'Out Of Control' from the house of Vashu Bhagnani. Vashu Bhagnani - the name that spelt magic till a few years back when the consecutive failures of 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein', 'Deewanapan', 'Om Jai Jagadish' and 'Jeena Sirf Mere Liye' took him quite a steps backwards!! Aiming to be 'different' this time around, he shifts tracks and comes up with a Hindi - English bilingual OOC. Though it must be admitted that the gloss that is normally associated with Vashu is still very much intact.

Principal star-cast comprises of Ritesh Deshmukh, who was the main lead in the first hit of the year 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' that paid dividends in long run, Hrishita Bhatt - who delivered an admirable performance in critically acclaimed 'Haasil' and 'hold-your-breath' - Brande Rodrick, the Baywatch girl. OOC is the story of the main protagonist Ritesh, who gets caught between his love interests from East and West, played by Hrishita and Brande. This out and out comedy is directed by the debutante` duo of Ramanjit Juneja and Apurva Asarani (hey !! are we left with 'any' directors who are not debutant`) whereas Anand Raj Anand and Dev Kohli handle the music department.

Yes, we find it funny!! And really amusing and pleasant when we see Brande gyrating with Ritesh on absolute Indian masala dance steps in 'USA vich LA'. Had anyone in USA ever imagined their star to be lip-syncing on a Punjabi-Hindi number? Neither had we and the result is simply riot !! ARA's ready-to-serve composition delivers again and what we have is an instant hit in end. Sunidhi Chauhan does a perfect voiceover and Shaan supports well.

Our expectations are very-very high from the album after this one and await more fun to be coming our way. But what follows soon after is 'Jodiya Ban Gayi' which takes it's inspirations from the late 80s basti tracks. One is taken aback as what one expected was another rocking number to sustain the tempo but what comes in the way is absolute predictable sounding number by Adnan Sami and Udit Narayan. No, this is certainly not the better one from Adnan.

So we have been feasting on the interlude of 'I just wanna be close to you' in the remix version of 'Keh Doon Tumhe'. The feat is repeated in 'Meri Jaan Mujhe Choo Le' that has got the similar undertones composed by DJ Aqeel and Sanjeev Wadhwani. A Hinglish track sung by newcomer Ramona, who does a fine job of singing for an American girl, 'Meri Jaan' is essentially a pop track that may appeal to the hip-hop crowd.

'India Se Aaya Hoon' by Sonu Nigam comes soon after but one hardly feels nostalgic as the same has been heard a few months back in 'Good Morning India' picturized on Fardeen Khan in Khushi. Ya, the only difference being that in the former Ritesh is singing his way into US of A whereas in the later, it has Fardeen partying around in the streets of Kolkata !! Are we overtly impressed? No we aren't !!

Babul Supriyo and Suzanne do a zillionth version of the feel-good-romantic-pop-track-number in the shape of 'Tu Mera Hai Sanam' that has Kenny G inspired saxophone tunes in the background. Do not expect anything great from it and the song just passes by your way harmlessly.

Did we say zillionth version? Probably we didn't hear 'Kudhi Vi Soni' till now which is yet another addition to the influx of numerous bhangra tracks in Bollywood. Results are all the same as this track by Babul Supriyo and Udit Narayan is plain predictable and it won't be surprising to see people moving out for their snacks break during this number.

ARA enters the world of Ismail Darbar in 'Tera Chand', which though melodious, still conveys that feeling of 'aisa kuch kal bhi to suna tha'. Shreya is in her usual self in this number which also marks the hat-trick of Babul Supriyo who sings his third successive song in the album.

While one song 'USA wich LA' is amazing and a great hit, the others while interesting and catchy are not in the same league.
