What's common between Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta, Kajol and Bipasha Basu? They are probably the only Bollywood stars from the 'A league' who are not a part of LOC Kargil !! Rest of the industry automatically find their way in the third of the trilogy of the war movies (after Border and Refugee) in this magnum opus by J. P. Dutta - LOC Kargil. Anu Malik, after giving great scores in Border and Refugee (for which he also won a National award), is at the helm of the affairs again and country's most respected lyricist Javed Akhtar is roped in to write for this mega movie.

Javed Akhtar comes straight to the point in 'Seemayen Bulaye Tujhe Chal Raahi' where he projects all the leading ladies showing great courage in motivating their heroes to serve the nation and come back unscathed. Alka Yagnik does a good job in singing this 8-minute song that goes on smoothly and seemingly effortlessly. The same tune is also a part of the soulful instrumental - 'Before We Forget'

'Pyaar Bhara Geet' is a 'roothna manana' song with a difference. Rather than being too obvious in it's message, it has a subtle overtones of two souls deeply in love conveying their feelings to each other with the lady love trying to stop her lover from going away whereas the guy lovingly tells her that he will be back soon. Javed Akhtar's words are so very simple that they just seem to be more of a conversation between the lovers rather than some cliched song'n'dance sequence. Sonu Nigam is excellent in his high pitched full-throated vocals where he admiringly restricts himself from going overboard. Shreya Ghosal does full justice to the confidence shown in her for singing this beautiful song. If you also want to sing along this beautiful composition, you can do so with the instrumental of the same.

'Khush Rehna' is the call of assurance from the soldier on the firing line to his friends and loved ones that he is doing fine. Though the pain and endurance is visible in the vocals of the protagonist, he tries to camouflage it with the soothing words. Roop Kumar Rathod excels in this track that should bring tears to the eyes when seen on screen.

Ever heard a 13 min. Bollywood song in your lifetime? Probably not! Anu Malik, Javed Akhtar and the rest of the team of LOC create a record of sorts where Roop Kumar Rathod, Sukhwinder Singh, Hariharan, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam join hands together and sing this heart warming number - 'Main Kahin Bhi Rahoon'. A number about 'Wherever I am, you are always there in my thoughts'. Thematically in the lines of the epic hit - 'Sandese Aate Hain', the number is highly impressive! Add to it the seasoned vocals of the lead singers and the effect provided by the chorus singers. This is the track be watched out for!

Ever wanted to cry your heart out for the dear and near one lost on the battlefield - just listen to 'Ek Saathi Aur Bhi Tha' by Sonu Nigam. A track in the midst of all the celebrations of winning the war, it makes one realize that in all this mayhem there is someone who has laid down his life for the love of the nation, so do not forget his sacrifice. Sonu Nigam is excellent in this track that may or may not bring him all the awards but should definitely be one of his best-sung songs. A prized possession for Sonu Nigam!

Only two lines to conclude the music of LOC Kargil:

Anu Malik and Javedji - get your best suits stitched. Another National award is on your way!
