"Love will find a way" - said the caption of last
year's romantic hit - 'Tum Bin'. In continuation of
this is told "When love comes
your way...Don't let go !!" as in Kaash...Aap Hamaare
Hote. KAHH is directed by veteran director Ravinder
Peepat and
produced by Nadira Babbar. Overall 'Designer' of the
movie is Raj Babbar. Daughter of Raj and Nadira
Babbar, Juhi, debuts
opposite Sonu nigam who 'formally' makes his debut as
a romantic hero after a brief appearance in this
year's true multistarrer
Jaani Dushman. KAHH has music by Aadesh Shrivastava
and lyrics by Sameer.
The title song by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik has the
rhythm of children's number and is not much effective.
Lyrics by
Sameer are plain average and Aadesh Srivastava fails
to deliver anything good. In fact another track 'Hum
Bhi Mohabbat Mein
Deewaane Hote' that can also qualify as a title track
(as it also ends with the words Kaash Aap Hamare Hote
!!) is a better
song and fairly good to listen to. Written by Praveen
Bhardwaj and sung by Sonu himself (obviously!!) and
Anuradha Paudwal,
it is reminiscent of hundreds of Anuradha's numbers
from T-Series' MUSIC BANK. A melodious track, there is
a sad solo
version of the same by Sonu which is good again.
'Chalte Chalte' is a typical Sonu Nigam track with
soft vocals and smoothing tune. It has shades of
'Deewana Main Chala' from
Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya but is still passable. 'Hai
Rabba' by Manmohan is a slow situational track that
may again qualify as
one of those background musical pieces during the
entire 3 hr movie. It also features as 'Dil Mein Sau
Sau' and is again at best
- SITUATIONAL.
'Tumhi Se Hui Hai Mohabbat' is a
painfully dragging slow number by Sonu Nigam. A
'supposedly' romantic
number, it nowhere seems to entice any kind of love
feelings and disappoints badly.
'Dhaari Chunariya' by
Alka Yagnik comes
into the 'Gaon Ki Gori' category of songs. Again a
weak number, it is one of those traditional tracks
probably set in
'sarson-ke-khet' !!
'Swaawa Pardesiyo' and 'Mera Hindustan Hai' are for
the NRIs - if we can call it this way. The former is
picturised on the
zinda-dil sardarji Raj Babbar - THE DESIGNER, daughter
Juhi and Sonu Nigam and is one of the better songs in
this album. A
bhangra track, it is fun to watch Sonu Nigam dance to
the beats. Sukhwinder Singh sings for the senior
Babbar. Though 'Mera
Hindustan Hai' seems to be patriotic, it is not, as it
is mainly focussed on the comparison of the heroine
with our 'hindustan'.
This is because whenever our hero looks at the beauty,
simplicity and innocence of the girl, he sees our very
own 'bharat-desh'
in her. Very well said buddy !!
Though Sonu Nigam has been over exposed through his
albums and TV shows, still it is good to see him in a
flick. He emotes
well, dances well, looks good and makes a conscious
(and successful !!) attempt at being different from
his music videos
image by varying his body language. Juhi Babbar also
looks confident and seems to be talented in department
of emoting but
needs to shed a few kilograms and get a new dress
designer as she looks TOO simple !!
Sonu, who has sung some real great hits for other
heroes in hit movies unfortunately doesn't get too
much of a chance here to
display his singing prowess. The tunes are tasteless
and there is nothing much that Sonu can do here.
Overall mood of KAHH
is sober but just being sober doesn't guarantee a sell
out music album as the freshness is missing. This all
looks like a set of
songs that have been composed keeping in mind the
theme of the movie but still lacks in one single
number that can really
make your heartbeat run faster. To conclude - A
disappointing score for a love story.
