Wecome again to the world of Archies !! After Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, get ready to watch the tale of Archie, Veronica, Betty and Reggie.

So who plays who:

Archie : Shahid, who had girls swooning over him after the cool act in Shah Rukh-Rani-Kajol starrer Pepsi ad

Veronica : Shenaz Treasurywala, popular VJ from MTV

Betty : Amrita Rao - our desi simple girl who made her debut with Arya Babbar in Ab Ke Baras and a brief appearnace in The Legend of Bhagat Singh opposite Ajay Devgan

Reggie : Yash Tonk - a popular TV star from Kahiin Kissi Roz, as Kunal, who made his debut in films in Kucch To Hai as Tusshar Kapoor's buddy.

A campus movie produced by TIPS, it is directed by ad and video film maker Ken Ghosh who directed the popular music video 'Dil Dhadke' with Baba Sehgal. And no, with Ishq Vishq, Ken doesn't make his debut as a director. He has earlier made a movie for Zee TV where Baba played a double role !!

Ishq Vishk, as the name suggests, is a love story set with campus as the backdrop and has music by Anu Malik and Sameer as the lyricist. This is Anu's second campus movie in a short span after Kucch To Hai. Just like KTH, even Ishq Vishq has peppy, catchy and rollicking music that should be immediately popular. None of the songs drag or bore and you never even realize when the 10 tracks get over !! Vintage Anu Malik is back with 'Chot Dil Pe Lagi' rendered by Kumar Sanu and Alisha Chinai. Patch up between Anu and Alisha certainly has been for good, as the results show !! Song takes you back to the melody of 'Baazigar O Baazigar (Baazigar) and lesser heard (but very melodious !!) 'Chori Chori Dil Tera Churaayenge' (Phool Aur Angaar) !! Kumar Sanu sounds as he does for most Shah Rukh Khan numbers and is back in form. A delicious song - it gives a great kick start to the album.

'Mujhpe Har Haseena' has Shahid doing the SRK act by wearing the same outfits, copying the mannerisms and even making a similar entry as Shah Rukh's in the Aashiq Hoon Main from Baadshah. And the sheer innocence of Shahid trying to be in same mould as King Khan make you feel in love with him, primarily because he does this job well and is sincere about it. Just check out for his red checkered shirt and his sleeveless black vest and you will know why !! 'Mujhpe Har Haseena' is an experiment similar to a song that was composed about 30 years back. Remember 'Lekar Hum Deewana Dil' from Yaadon Ki Baarat? Similarity is that both former and later have 4-5 songs composed in one track itself. So here, 'Mujhpe...' too has pop, melody, jazz and bhangra - ALL IN ONE. Sung by Alsiha Chenai, Sonu Nigam and Kumar Sanu, this track impresses !!

'Aisa Kyon Hota Hai' is a sweet-simple-romantic-melody by Alka Yagnik where the girl is wondering about the feeling of first love. Content of the song conveys that it may be picturized on Amrita Rao. And yes, this number is different from the peppy 'Aisa Kyon Hota Hai' from 'Kucch To Hai' !! Slower (and a shorter) version of the same number appears as 'Mujhse Hui Bas Yeh Khata'.

Campus tracks are back with 'Love Love Tum Karo' and 'Dooba Re Dooba'. 'Love Love' is a very common and an unoriginal track by Sonu Nigam and new finds Priya and Prachi, it has the college hero and heroine giving tips to their friends about how to 'pataofy' your partner and make them fall in love with you. 'Dooba Re Dooba' has Sonu Nigam letting his hair down and singing with full 'josh'. A number about getting drowned in the girl's eye, it has that Maharashtrian folk touch. An OK track. 'Aankhon Ne Tumhaari' and the title song 'Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar' by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik are again trademark Anu Malik numbers from the mid 90's when melody used to be his forte`. 'Aankhon Ne Tumhaari' is an average number which has ordinary (and very repetitive ) lyrics by Sameer. Title song is about what happens when a boy and a girl meet for the first time !!

Guess what ?? They fall in love !!! This is the moral of the song - 'Ishq Vishq Pyaar Vyaar'.

The album ends well with the rollicking Theme Piece which we have been watching in the trailers so far. Sung by Alisha and Sonu Nigam it has just two lines - 'Ishq Vishq Pyaar Vyaar' and 'I Believe In Love Love' Yes Anu, we too believe in you !! You seem to be back in your elements first with 'Kucch To Hai' and now 'Ishq Vishk' after some insipid compositions in 2002.

Good job TIPS for presenting this fun album !!
