In their first few films, the Gen-Next of Bollywood namely Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan and Shahid Kapoor catered to the multiplex audience. But now the trio has realized that if they have to reach the levels of super-stardom it's important to be accepted even by the crowds thronging the single screens. In short, it's time to go massy!

Going by the choice of their next films, it certainly seems like Ranbir, Shahid and Imran are following in the foot-steps of the 3 Khans (Salman, Shahrukh and Aamir) to cater to both the single screen and the multiplex audience. Ranbir for starters is doing Besharam with Abhinav Kashyap (of Dabangg fame), Shahid has chosen to be a part of Prabhudheva's Namak and Rajkumar Santoshi's Phata Poster Nikla Hero while Imran, the poster boy of urban cinema, has moved into unfamiliar territory with his choice of films namely Vishal Bharadwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Milan Luthria's Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Again.

Slowly but steadily all three are moving towards more earthy and grounded characters that will have a mass appeal.
