While the action is raw and to some extent even enjoyable, what annoys most about Baabarr is the fact that it actually glorifies crime and its protagonist's actions...

As expected. there is violence galore. But our hero Baabarr (newcomer Soham Shah) looks more a lover boy than a killing machine. There is no meanness in his eyes and his body language is that of a teenager who has just set his hands on a revolver; not that of a seasoned killer...

The pre-requisite for a crime-based action film is a swift pace and that is one thing Baabarr doesn't lack. There's always something happening and one situation leads to another in a clean and clear flow...

The movie is highly violent and brutal showing a lot of bloodshed with numerous murders and shoot outs. Though it has some gripping moments and power packed performances in store, but sadly talks about the same gang war drama seen several times before on the screen.

Baabarr is a captivating and powerful tale. Sure, there's excessive violence, but there's a reason behind it and that works in its favour. At the box-office, it has best chances in the Northern belt and also at single screens mainly.

The twists and turn in the flick seem so real and keep the viewers hooked for the longer period. Abbas Ali Moghul handling of action sequences must be praised.Due to absence of any big stars from bollywood and dark, brutal nature of the flick, it is unlikely to find favor in big cites or at multiplexes.

Watching Baabarr is a strainful experience, the subject is completely dark with a gruelling plot. The amount of negativity shown in the characters is quite difficult to absorb.Baabarr is an average film but one needs courage to sit through it.
