5 of 10 people found this review helpful 'Kaminey' is not about masala film. Actually it is a well thought and beautifully implemented movie. While watching the movie, you have to be attentive. You have to be aware of every goings-on and also the twists in the end...

3 of 3 people found this review helpful Shahid Kapur has given his career best performance in the film playing two roles which are poles apart. Incredible! Priyanka Chopra has done superb, acted really well and this performance is one of her best.

Tarantino exclusively uses music he already loves because he doesn't trust anyone to create anything as good, Bhardwaj has always done it all himself, writing, directing and composing -- not to mention singing, and its worth noting the slight s/f lisp he gives the film's magnificent title track when it plays on screen.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey is a one-of-a-kind experience. All those expecting a dark, action-packed entertainer, be warned. This is grittier stuff. Kaminey is the director's tribute to Guy Ritchie, Taratino, Coen Brothers and the entire cult of pulp flicks.

4 of 4 people found this review helpful The movie is about Guddu and Charlie (Shahid Kapur in a double role), both brothers who have not met in many years. While Guddu is the quiet, shy type, Charlie is the rough, tough guy who moves where there is trouble.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful Finally a request. Watch this film only in a theatre. Watching films on pirated DVD?s or downloading it from the internet is a crime. Remember, making of a movie involves a year or more of hard work and lots of money.

4 of 7 people found this review helpful The story moves around two brothers who are not at talking terms with each other but get unintentionally involved with different Gangsters. The identity mix up and a big deal of drugs involving the local police is the main plot of the movie.

"Kaminey" is one of the few must watch films of 2009. From narrative to execution -- Bharadwaj shows that he knows the art of creating a new world of cinema and lays out a road ahead for many aspiring filmmakers.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful 'Kaminey' is a classy work by the super classy filmmaker. The different subject, well-delivered performances by the stars, 'Dhan Te Nan' plus other catchy songs and the splendid execution by Vishal Bhardwaj will surely bring the huge audiences to the theaters. It is a definite blockbuster
in all respects.

'Kaminey' has been edited well. It has been shot smartly but the number of shakes in every scene almost leaves you dizzy. Especially the visualization of 'Dhan tan nan' looks far more pleasant on a TV. It is not half as pleasant on the big screen with colours and sharp cuts hitting your eyes...

Kaminey is a must watch at any cost. It redefines the rules of Hindi filmmaking and most importantly delivers what it promises. Chances are it may well turn out to be your favourite caper movie ever and wanna watch it again and again.

Kaminey boasts the best performance you will see by an ensemble cast in a long time, and that includes even the bit players...

2 of 2 people found this review helpful Kaminey mostly draws its powers from the brilliant music score (Vishal Bhardwaj) and the innovative cinematography (Tassaduq Hussain) which creates a whole new playground for criminals, thugs and goons to revel in. But it's the performances that leave you spellbound too.

'Dhan Te Nan' becomes heart-n-soul gaana for everyone as they move out of theatres. Mark this around! This line keeps repeating all over again and there's something more interesting on screen as you heed to it. Finally, 'Kaminey' has the best chances of making great rounds in box office...

Technically the film is crafted skillfully. The cinematography by Tassaduq Hussain keeps you riveted as the camera sprints restlessly with the characters. Editing by Meghna Sen and Sreekar Prasad is effective. Bharadwaj's music is a major highpoint with the 'Dhan Te Nan' track adding good momentum to the proceedings.

Kaminey as a canvas can also be threaded to what Vishal achieved with Blood Brothers - the short film he made for Mira Nair's AIDS Jaago project in 2007. It has the same bleak setting, neon lights, street language, hand held camera work and a verite attitude.

Bharadwaj has conceived many such interesting sequences in 'Kaminey'. Take for instance that scene when Shahid and his partners in crime realize that the car they?ve stolen to get away from their chasers is actually a police car...

0 of 1 people found this review helpful What Iago did for the career of Saif, Guddu/Charlie would do for Shahid. He is crude, filthy, rugged with buldging biceps and consistent stammerer. And then he is cute, lisping and so easily lead. He does in this movie what he was incapable of doing in his entire career of playing cute and irritating Shahrukh Khan inspired lover boy roles. He is good, consistently.

Kaminey is the best Bollywood film I've seen this year. It's an audacious, original rollercoaster ride. Written and directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Kaminey requires patience and attention but the pay off is more than worth it.
By Dunkdaft Blogspot, August 15, 2009 - 15:35 IST
Overall hold of the movie is really comendable. Audience is left for thinking what has just happened. Its like, if you miss a thing or two, it will take really long time to understand whats going on!! Thats where the movie wins.
