RNBDJ ranks as one of SRK's best performances till date, his finest moment being in the interval when Raj talks to Suri and he talks back!

The first half of the film seems somewhat alright, though I'd love an explanation on how a woman besotted with a certain man not just imagines him on screen in a romantic medley, but sees him dance with a string of Bollywood heroines instead of herself.

The 40-something SRK shows just why he is called King Khan as he carries off the two roles almost effortlessly. What is striking is that each time he changes his attire his body language also undergoes a drastic change.

Shah Rukh Khan delivers the finest performance. You love to watch him in the role of a simple man and then a guy with stylish looks.

Surinder Sahni (SRK) gets married to Taani (Anushka Shrma) under dire circumstances. She therefore finds it difficult to accept him as her husband. She stays withdrawn and doesn't speak to him. So much so that she doesn't come out of her room for the first few days. Surinder being the understanding simple man that he is let's her be? not pushing for anything from her.

Shah Rukh proves his mettle once again with his immaculate acting and makes it a treat to watch and appreciate the friendly neighbourhood common man in his geeky avatar and Punjabi dialect.

Honestly, after quite a long famine you're treated to a banquet of entertainment. For most part of the way, the spread is fun, feel-wonderful and perhaps expectedly, shouldered by a 10-on-10 performance by Shah Rukh Khan.

Rab Ne has been definitely amongst the most awaited films of 2008 and there have been great expectations riding on it especially because it is Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge maker Aditya Chopra?s comeback film after a long gap of 8 years.

We laugh at Surinder's endearing clumsiness first and then at his boisterous transformantion as Raj. Wearing a T-shirt that says 'Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime' with tight jeans and over-sized sunglasses, Raj reminds one of several young people who dress loud to look 'with it'.

SRK is the pivot on which the whole movie rests, and he rocks 'Rab' despite his facial lines that make him look a tad mature to romance a 20-something damsel.

SRK's character of Surinder Sahni is something most people would identify with. A simple common man, who goes through his daily routine and 9 to 5 working life. Acting wise, SRK has put in a lot of effort into this role and it shows.

Essentially the film takes the feel-good path as it tries to simplify the stagy effect by avoiding a rebellious streak to the aggrieved girl. Nevertheless there are moments of sloppy sentimentality by a pouting Shah Rukh, like in the avertable mannequin scene just before the interval.

The film seems like a potpourri of so many different things, of which nothing fits in place. What sense does it make for sharma to cavort on the bike, how does it contribute to anything in the film.

Punjab Power? Lighting up your life? I wish. What could have been an extraordinary film about ordinary people is an ordinary film about pretty ordinary people.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi isn't even a great film, but it gave me a feeling I had long forgotten- of soaring out of the theatre, having watched a film that swept me off and won me over, so much that I didn't really care to nit-pick.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a story of a very normal man Surinder Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan) who falls in love with a girl named Tanni (Anushka Sharma), who is just about to get married. But all the baaratis are killed in a bus crash while they are on their way to the marriage.

The film is not very high on grandeur, style and designer clothes and revolves mainly around the two characters, three if you take into account Shah Rukh's dual roles. Aditya doesn't deviate much from the plot and sticks to linear form of storytelling. Having said that, the single-track nature of the story also makes it a tad too long at 2 hours and 45 minutes...
