1 of 3 people found this review helpful A 'Materialism versus idealistic simplicity' theme runs heavily through Jannat. So, who wins? If only it were that easy to answer. Such a deep philosophical question cannot be answered in 2.5 hours and isn’t answered either. So, if you are looking for a conclusion, a closure, Jannat is not for you.

1 of 2 people found this review helpful JANNAT is not full proof as far as a tight script and logic goes. But this is one film where I'm willing to overlook the flaws and view the film in its entirety.

2 of 3 people found this review helpful Jannat works but doesn't deliver what it promises to. The film is just set against the backdrop of gambling and match-fixing while the central theme of the movie is love.

1 of 2 people found this review helpful It's the kind of simplistic storyline that could have been wrapped up in half the time. Honest, you could have rolled end credits at the interval and it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever to the overall narrative.

0 of 1 people found this review helpful Good heavens! That's Emraan Hashmi attempting a hairy style statement in Jannat directed by first-timer Kunal Deshmukh. Frequently, you crave to just run up to the screen and give Mr Hashmi the hair cut of his life.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful As a debutant director Kunal Deshmukh has come up with a decent story line and concept. However, like many before him he has failed in execution. The first half of the movie seems like a romantic love story with most time devoted to showing the brewing romance between Arjun and Zoya. Hashmi is also a let down in the film – he almost comes across and lazy in his acting.

2 of 2 people found this review helpful The story of the film revolves around the life of a small time card player Arjun (Emraan Hashmi) who wants to make big money very quickly. The desire of making quick money becomes a necessity after he meets Zoya (Sonal Chauhan) in a mall.

0 of 2 people found this review helpful The love story in Jannat resorts to the archaic templates of the 80s while the backdrop theme of match-fixing on which the film is formulated is least exploited in its screenplay.
