Director, Lyricist and Dialogue writer Sanjay Chhel's directorial venture for Venus - Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam is based on a theatre plot starring Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose in the lead. Mallika plays a character from a theatre group in the movie. Being a perfectionist and himself having a theatre background, Sanjay wanted Mallika to observe the nuances of theater artistes and incorporate it in her character. So, he took the actress to Prithvi theatre to have a first hand feel of the theatre atmosphere.
