Shab is a story about the lives of the people who live on the edge, of what the society finds acceptable. It begins with the story of Sonal Modi (Raveena Tandon) who has a series of extra marital affairs and continues to treat men as boy toys as she is not content with her relation with her businessman-husband, Vivek Modi (Sanjay Suri). One of them is a model Mohan (Ashish Bisht) who she meets when judging a contest to select models. Although Mohan doesn’t win the modelling contest, he sure does win Sonal’s heart with his charming personality.
To keep him around, Sonal appoints Mohan as her personal trainer and changes his name to Afzar so no one can find out about the reality. Soon, he realizes that she is just using him for fun. He meets Afia (Arpita Chatterjee) and finds comfort in her. As time passes, he gets to know her and tells her own back story to him which is devastating. Afia runs a restaurant with Neil (Areesz Gandhi) and he has his own tale to tell. He is in a relationship with a man named Nishant (Shray Rai Tiwari), who is his on-off boyfriend and later finally ditches him to marry a girl. This deeply disturbs Neil who later finds comfort in Afia’s neighbour, Benoit (Simon Frenay), a French guy, who agrees to be his partner. In midst of this, Afzar loses Afia as she makes a decision to move to France with her sister. What exactly is the truth about her?
