Do Lafzon Ki Kahani Review {3.0/5} & Review Rating
EXPECTATIONS
Since Do Lafzon Ki Kahani is a love story, one expects a romantic score. However, one isn't too sure about the kind of music that would be in the offing. Of course, presence of composers like Amaal Mallik and Ankit Tiwari assures that there would be something melodious in there. However, of late not many soundtracks have made much of an impression and hence one waits to listens to the entire album.
 MUSIC
The start of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani is truly fantastic as Amaal Mallik comes up with a beautiful number, 'Kuch To Hai'. A truly soulful number that has melody ruling right through its playing duration, it is sung beautifully by Armaan Malik who does justice to the simple lyrics written by Manoj Muntashir. An instantly addictive number, it is supported by minimal instruments in the background that help the music to sink in.
The moment 'Jeena Marna' begins, you realize that there is good effort that has been put in coming up with the score of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani. Newcomer Babli Haque keeps the mood of the film and the music intact as he gives this Sandeep Nath written track a nice 'sufi-rock' touch. Altamash Faridi sings this one well and you don't mind at all once Palak Muchhal is heard in the 'female version' of the song. Very good!
The name Kanika Kapoor is synonymous with many naughty tracks that have been sung by her ever since the arrival of chartbuster 'Baby Doll'. However, she shifts from her usual 'andaaz' to a pathos filled number 'Ankhiyan'. It is remarkable to see the kind of quality that is maintained in the album as right from the lyrics (Kumaar) to the composition (Arjuna Harjai), it all falls in place for 'Ankhiyan'.
 Last to arrive is 'Sehra' which is composed and sung by Ankit Tiwari. There is a characteristic product that one expects from the talented youngster and 'Sehra' pretty much falls into the same bracket. Though this one doesn't belong to the 'catchy' kind, it fits in pretty well into the overall soul and theme of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani. In that aspect, this Sandeep Nath written number has a good sound to it that works.
OVERALL
The music of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani surprises, and how! This is also inarguably the best soundtrack that director Deepak Tijori has managed for a film of his, something that would help the theatrical run as well.
