Characters:

Anushka Sharma: Shruti Kakkar

PWD offcer's daughter, a young ambitious girl, Shruti is a 20- something girl from a middle class household in Delhi. She dreams of the finer things in life. Focused and determined, her plans in life are well laid, and that means, Shaadi Mubarak, her very own wedding planning company. Add to this a deadline of 5 years to achieve everything before an arranged marriage is thrust on her.

She is young, vibrant, confident and even bullheaded at times and won't take nonsense from anyone and is not scared to say what's on her mind. Along with Bittoo, she works hard towards the success of their business - their joint venture, and while doing so, clearly demarcates the boundaries of business and pleasure. Shruti's recipe of success... no love till ambitions are fulfilled. But life does not allow you to live by a plan. Shruti had one, but now her heart says one thing and her head says something else.

Ranveer Singh: Bittoo Sharma

A final year college student of Delhi University, Bittoo is a young, ambitionless but jugaadu man who hails from a family of sugarcane farmers in Saharanpur. Carefree and nonchalant in life, he whiles away his college life in having fun with his buddies, barely scraping through his exams, flirting with girls and making a quick buck through
devious schemes.

Even after college, having no real career plans of his own, he is determined not to go back to Saharanpur to be in the middle of sugarcane fields. Finding an easy way out by partnering Shruti in her venture, he convinces her to let her take him on as partner by proving his loyalty and commitment.

Through their journey together, he surprises Shruti with his enterprising nature and commitment to the job by finding innovative ways to tackle a task. However, his real growth only begins when he discovers love and that's where his real problem also begins.
