Director Faruque Kabir shoots a promotional video for Allah Ke Banday with 1000 kids

A chapter re-opened in the history of Mumbai city as approximately 1,000 children of all castes and nationalities came together on Tuesday for a promotional video shooting for Faruque Kabir's Allah Ke Banday, which deals with juvenile crime.
For the first time after the November 2008 carnage, the symbol of Mumbai came alive on Tuesday evening to the whirr of cameras and the cries of lights, cameras and action. Director Faruque says, "A lot of paperwork was to be done to acquire permission to shoot at the Gateway. Permission papers along with the lyrics of the song, description of the song were sent to the Mantralaya. It is the first time after the terrorist attack that one will be seeing a crowd of 1,000 kids between the age group of 5-15 years, shooting for a video for a movie. The video also features Kailash Kher and his band."
Faruque adds, "Like my movie title, every child is Allah Ke Banday. The song is calling out to God and asking him to be kind to the world. It deals with the main characters who have suffered and want to reach out to God to put a stop to the misery and bad happenings in the world."
There were children from the slums, municipal schools, private institutions, foreign kids and handicapped kids. Few of the kids were already a part of the film and now will be seen in the promotional video shoot. Regarding the casting of the children the director says, "An entire team was set up to do the casting. We got in touch with the International Student Body to have some foreign kids. There is also a blind kid along with a handicapped child featuring in the video. The slum kids were made aware through word of mouth."
Faruque shot with the children from 6 pm till 6 am. For the safety of the kids, there were 75 security guards along with a team of over 100 production people hired especially to look after the kids. An ambulance along with a fire brigade was called for the kids. The children were divided into groups and each group had a bus for the pick up and drop service. An entire arrangement of food was been called from McDonalds. Tents had been put up for the break period in between shots
Faruque's Allah Ke Banday starring Sharman Joshi, Naseruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni and Anjana Sukhani is slated to release towards the end of this year.
