By Bollywood Hungama News Network, May 21, 2009 - 15:17 IST

Hrithik Roshan, who is currently in the news for his upcoming film Kites, along with his wife Suzanne, graced the 26th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, which was organized by Parmeshwar Godrej's Heroes Project and the Mumbai District AIDS Control Society, which echoed the slogan "Together we are the solution".

What's more is that Hrithik took the pledge "I will" to show his solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS. At the event, he said, "We are not doing this only for HIV infected people. We are doing this for you and me. AIDS is not something that is happening to other people but it is happening to us".

But true to his noble being, Hrithik credited his wife Suzanne for giving him the 'impetus' to be a part of the cause. "I think it is important for prominent people to do something for human value," Suzanne said.

"We are here to protect our children and our people. If something from our side can make a difference, we both would like to speak about it," she added.

Also present at the event were Farhan Akhtar, Nandita Das, Director-General of the National AIDS Control Organisation, Dr. Sujata Rao and A V Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla.

Whatever be the case, the stars in Tinsel Ville have never lagged behind in showing their support to a noble cause.
