Race |
'Race' at #1 for yet another week does come as a surprise now. After all it has been for quite a few months that the album has ruling from the top whereas 'Jannat' and 'Tashan' have been giving good competition too. In spite of music promotion coming to a standstill, 'Race' continues to rule! |

Jannat |
Closely following 'Race', 'Jannat' is now just a little behind in the 'race'. There are three more songs waiting to be unleashed which means 'Jannat' has quite some ammunition to explore in weeks to come. |
Promotion of music as well as film is below par. Period. |

Tashan |
After making a smashing entry into the charts, 'Tashan' sustains itself last week to keep it's #3 position intact. It is quite an achievement for 'Tashan' to be so high up the order in spite of only one song being currently on air - 'Chhaliya'. |
If not for YRF's promotional strategy of hardly showcasing their songs on music channels, 'Tashan' would have been a serious contender for the #1 spot |

Jodhaa Akbar |
Music of 'Jodhaa Akbar' has clicked in a big way. Despite initial apprehensions about the fate of this A.R. Rahman score, the songs have done well to enjoy continued sales all over. This pretty much seals the partnership of Ashutosh Gowariker and A.R. Rahman for many more films to come. |
Audience has given the album a Thumbs Up and this is what matters in the end. The music may not have boasted of a bona fide chartbuster but in entirety, it has made for a quality package album. |

U Me Aur Hum |
'U Me Aur Hum' is perhaps the only album in last so many months which has been so consistent in the middle of the charts ever since it's arrival. However, it seems unlikely that it would be able to break into Top-3 with the way 'Race', 'Jannat' and 'Tashan' are performing. |
Title song 'U Me Aur Hum' could have been used more in the film's narrative as a background piece |

Taare Zameen Par |
This is the sixth month in the running ever since the soundtrack of 'Taare Zameen Par' hit the stands. Though the music took a very slow start and was hovering in the bottom of the charts till around the film's release, it has been doing stupendously ever since 21st December - the day 'Taare Zameen Par' arrived at theaters. |

Khuda Kay Liye |
First Pakistani film soundtrack to grace the Indian charts, 'Khuda Kay Liye' has made a decent debut at #7. This is quite some achievement considering the fact that the music has arrived sans any fanfare or promotion. The Sufi sound works pretty well in the album while the title song is a gem. |
There is no dearth of buyers for the kind of music that 'Khuda Ke Liye' offers. However, the music company needs to pump up the promotion in a big way even after the film is out of the theaters. |

Krazzy 4 |
Just like the week before, 'Krazzy 4' sees a one spot gain yet again in the week gone by. Next fortnight would tell how much the Rakesh Roshan-Ram Sampat controversy has helped the music to register a higher impact. |
Except for the title song and to an extent 'Dekhta Hai Tu Kya', absolutely nothing else works for the album |

Jab We Met |
'Jab We Met' shows a drop by a couple of spots though there doesn't appear to be much threat for a few more weeks to come at least. Reason? There is no new notable music arriving for weeks at stretch. |

Om Shanti Om |
In a fortnight's time, 'Om Shanti Om' has slid from #6 to #8. It would be interesting to see if 'Bhoothnath', an album by Vishal-Shekhar, knocks off 'Om Shanti Om' from the charts. |
