In Bollywood, Sanjay Gupta is a name that has become synonymous with dark, unusual movies and themes, which Bollywood has never experienced
before. One can find traces of Hollywood in his films. And the USP of ‘Being Sanjay Gupta’ is that he will never shy away from the facts that if his
films are an adaptation of any Hollywood flick something very unlike of many directors in the desi tinsel town!
He is one man who will not mind giving his right arm (and his left also, if the need be) for the sake of his films! Here is a man who can simply be called
as a ‘Master of all Trades’ for he is as successful a director as much a lyricist, screenplay writer, story writer and also a producer! IndiaFM, as
usual had an exclusive chat session with the man himself! And for those who missed the bus, here’s presenting the excerpts with the man with

Letty: Hi sir, so are you excited or nervous or chilled out about your film Dus Khanaiyaan?
Sanjay Gupta: I am excited and anxious.

Pavanscorpio: Hi Sanjay...I regularly watches your movies... What are your upcoming films?
Sanjay Gupta: Dus Kahaniyaan, the Great Indian Butterfly and Pankh.
Letty: Which other directors are directing the film?
Sanjay Gupta: Hansal, Apoorva Lakhia, Rohit Roy, Meghna and Jasmeet Dhodi.

sara : Hi, how did you manage to convince so many actors to come together did you face any problem with dates?
Sanjay Gupta: No real problem because most of the actors we are already working with regularly plus you don’t need them all together.

Letty: What made you get into something so challenging?
Sanjay Gupta: This is something which we do regularly at white feather films... we have always liked to go against the tide.

priya64: Hello Mr. Gupta... I’m a great fan of all your movies, Kaante and Musafir, whose idea behind Dus Kahaniyaan?
Sanjay Gupta: The story ideas came from various places but most are mine.
Pavanscorpio: I like the style and substance in your films... Is this a foreign copy?
Sanjay Gupta: No its not.... can you think of a film made internationally on these themes?

Saar Khan: Sanjay, are you still planning to make Kaante 2?
Sanjay Gupta: Yes, I am planning to make Kaante 2, Saar; it will be announced in due course of time.
Sam: After the films were made did you saw them and it came the way you wanted?
Sanjay Gupta: Yes, most certainly it has turned out the way I wanted.... but it has been a learning process because it is first time attempt as
such.
Sam: What are your expectations from the film?
Sanjay Gupta: It’s definitely a movie experience, which has not been seen before. I expect that people like the film and give us the freedom
to make more such films

Shekharmad: Congrats for making such a big movie...where do you see yourself 10 yrs from now?
Sanjay Gupta: I see myself having made approximately 50 more films. I see White Feather Films as a much bigger entity than where we are
today and I see myself getting more time for myself.
priya64: How was it working with so many actors...there is a similar thing flick coming out called Mumbai 10 your take on it?
Sanjay Gupta: I have no clue about Mumbai 10.
priya64: Which is your favorite story in Das Kahaniyaan?
Sanjay Gupta: Gubbare starring Nana Patekar.
Rakesh: I am all set to see Dus Kahaniyaan...any of these stories taken from real life?
Sanjay Gupta: Some of these stories are inspired from real life.

Sanjay Gupta: Nicky because Gubbare is written by Gulzar saab, the story is very personal and this is a departure from my usual style of film
making
priya64: Any plans to work with Anil again. He was great in Musafir.
Sanjay Gupta: certainly Priya, Anil is a great guy and a wonderful actor.
priya64: Tell us something about Alibaug?
Sanjay Gupta: Right now let’s just chat about Dus Kahaniyaan, we will chat about Alibaug later.
Rock: hello I’m from PAKISTAN; I’ m a big fan of Sanjay Dutt and your movies. so I give you an idea that why don’t you remake films like
CONAIR and UNDERSEIGE 2 .like you made remake of RESERVOIR DOGS . With you directing and Dutt acting these films will be blockbuster.
Sanjay Gupta: That doesn’t interest me any more, Rock.
priya64: Pick your favorite holiday destination... Where is it?
Sanjay Gupta: I have 3 favorite holiday destinations my personal homes in Goa, Pune, and Khandala.

planning to launch new faces?
Sanjay Gupta: We are introducing new talent and our next film we are launching Sikander and Neha oberoi.
Tantu: Mr.Gupta, shooting with multi cam setup makes shooting process easy or does it tends to get complicated??????
Sanjay Gupta: Tantu, it has its pros and cons you have to compromise on your lighting but you get more coverage.
priya64: How was Rohit Roy as a director and what do you think of him as an actor?
Sanjay Gupta: As an actor I have the highest regard for Rohit, as a director he is fabulous and he has made an outstanding debut........his is
probably one of the best stories
priya64: Were there are any actors that you asked to work in DK but they didn’t? Who were they?
Sanjay Gupta: I don’t want to name them.
priya64: Just saw Jhalak Dhikalja last night.. And you were the guest... Who do think should win? I think Sandhya.
Sanjay Gupta: Sandhya should win.
ASIF: ya kaante ka ek song hai jane kya hoga rama re my favorite song what your favorite song in DK?
Sanjay Gupta: The title track, the energy of the song is fantastic.
raj : There were stories narrated earlier also in Salaam-e-Ishq and metro, do you find your movie different from them
Sanjay Gupta: It’s absolutely different from them Raj and you will know it only when you see it
Pavanscorpio: With your style of direction and works... You are the "Bollywood's Tarantino"..!!

Sanjay Gupta: The locations are decided by the script.

Sanjay Gupta: Sharukh there is not much comedy in DK.
Sharukh: The song in the gym was it made in parts or in one day?
Sanjay Gupta: The gym song, it was my idea and it was shot over 3 days.
MANAN: WHEN YOU WILL PUBLISH THE POSTER OF THE MOVIE ALIBAUG?
Sanjay Gupta: Around 2 months before release.
Praks: well......how many stories you have directed in this flick...??......and whom did you cast in them?
Sanjay Gupta: I have directed 4.5 stories in DK.

priya64 : What is your favourite song from DK? How long did the shoot for DK go on?
Sanjay Gupta : It took me a year to shoot DK.
ASIF : Who sung Dus kahaniyaan main title song Kon Gaya?
Sanjay Gupta : Aanchal and KK.
priya64 : Your take on Saawariya and OSO have you seen any of them?
Sanjay Gupta : I haven’t seen any of them.

Sanjay Gupta: BAPPA will go long way.
karnik : Which director is your favorite Karan Johar or Sanjay Leela Bhansali?
Sanjay Gupta: karan and Sanjay both are good directors though if I have to choose I will choose karan.
Mrankimonki: Who do you think is the most attractive actress in Bollywood right now?
Sanjay Gupta: Kareena Kapoor.
Priya : Any particular actor you would like to work with? What do you think about Abhay Deol?
Sanjay Gupta: ShahRukh, Aamir I would love to work with them. I think Abhay is a very fine performer.

Y2K: you are doing a really wonderful job with your movies. Do you think we could make any movies like "Requiem for a dream”?
Sanjay Gupta: Y2K Requiem for a dream incidentally is my favorite film I would love to make something like that.
Shahrukh_Fan: Already booked Dus Kahaniyaan Ticket in advance eagerly waiting for the movie any film with SRK I think you both can
make a wonderful film.
Sanjay Gupta: We will work together in the near future with SRK.
raj : 10 stories in 2 hrs, certainly length of movie is perfect for audience but is the movie has got mass appeal also or only for certain
audience
Sanjay Gupta: All of them are 10 min stories except rise and fall
kash : you and Anand Raj Anand promised to use the voices of sa re ga ma pa contestants? So have you guys utilized them yet?
Sanjay Gupta: We will use the sa re ga ma contestants in our films but right now they are traveling with their shows.
Roky : Why you always make multi star movies?
Sanjay Gupta: Roka because I can.
Masumeh : Was surprised you didn't have a kissing scene for me in this film of yours !
Sanjay Gupta: don’t be surprised...you never know.
Y2K: I would really love to see YOU make "A tale of two cities", the way they did to "Romeo + Juliet

priya64: Now days promotion tactics have been changed do you approve them?
Sanjay Gupta: Of course you must do whatever you can to promote and sell the film.
