5 biggies this November - What's your choice?

It is going to be choice aplenty for cine goers this November. Also, it would be the survival of the fittest for each of the five biggies which are lined up for release this November.
Picture the lineup of movies which are arriving starting November 9th. Om Shanti Om and Saawariya are now all set to get into a royal battle on the much talked about date. Both the movies are going all out in establishing their supremacy well before the D day arrives.
After all, in majority of cases, today's business is all about the crucial opening weekend and the film which gets it's neck ahead at the very beginning is most likely to succeed. Hence, it doesn't come as a surprise when the balance seems to be tilting towards the Farah Khan-Shah Rukh combo.
Says Praneeta Singh, an IT professional, "It is just out of question to choose anything over and above Shah Rukh Khan. After all he has been a complete entertainer all these years and Om Shanti Om seems to be no different. Of course I will see Saawariya due to all the hype around Ranbir-Sonam combo but the first ticket I buy would be of Om Shanti Om."
Amongst the campus crowds, the opinion is divided in the age group of 18-23. While die hard romantics are looking at a mushy outing in the world of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shah Rukh loyalists are going all out to widen the gap between the two films. Since there is a spare weekend ahead with no film arriving on 16th November, both Om Shanti Om and Saawariya would get ample opportunity to create a presence based on their merits.
Fun only continues later in the month when Sanjay Dutt/Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyaan comes face to face with UTV's Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal on 23rd November. Both being big budget films, they are diverse in genres but are seemingly targeting younger group of audience.
"Even though there are two dozen odd actors in Dus Kahaniyaan, for me presence of Sanjay Dutt is money's worth", says Kesavan Kandadai, a UK based NRI. "Shah Rukh and now Akshay may be bigger in UK but there is also a segment of audience which still roots for Sanjay Dutt films," he adds.
In fact in overseas, especially UK, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal may well score a goal since this Vivek Agnihotri film has it's plot centered in London, just like his last film Chocolate. "Success of Chak De India has only helped in instilling confidence amongst the exhibitors that Indian audience is ready to accept films with themes beyond romance or comedy. This paves the way for 'Goal' to make it's presence felt as well", reflects an industry insider.
Unlike Om Shanti Om and Saawariya which get a two week period to earn some moolah, Dus Kahaniyaan and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal would face a challenge within a week's time with Yash Raj Films expected to bombard theaters across the country with Aaja Nachle. Releasing on 30th November, the film just needs one reason to be a success and that is Madhuri Dixit.
Arriving as a solo release with no film coming on 7th December, this Yash Raj film gets the best of both worlds and is all set to continue the cash registers ringing well into the month of December. Justifies homemaker Kavya Arora, "This is one film which no one would want to miss. Especially people like me who grew up seeing Madhuri films and were pained to see her leave after Devdas, it is time to relive the nostalgia".
