"Dhamaal is very gutsy script" - Aashish Chaudhary

Aashish Chaudhary is a fine actor and has made his presence felt in films like Qayamat and Fight Club. His latest film, Indra
Kumar's Dhamaal, has earned him rave review even from the harshest of critics. Many find his comic timing simply hilarious. He is at
present endorsing Onida televisions.
Aashish Chaudhary talks to IndiaFM; here are some excerpts from the chat.
kool :hi aashish when is speed releasing?
Ashish Chowdhary : speed probably will be releasing on 28th of this month hopefully because its in appropriate to release
during ramzan but the film is looking good so producer is not worried

Ashish Chowdhary : thank you and yes double dhamaal is scripted pretty much n it would consist of the same team
kool :what is speed all about?
Ashish Chowdhary : speed is really pace adventure thriller a story of 6 hrs real time compacted into 2 and half hour film for a change it
has no comedy i play a British cop who hardly even smiles
priya64 : how was it working in Dhaamal?
Ashish Chowdhary : it was the most amazing fun experience for a new comer like me also having to work with my closest friends made
it a complete ball

priya64 : What are ur upcoming movies? I know one is SPEED what bout the others?
Ashish Chowdhary : post speed wud be kisse pyaar karoon which has again arshad with me thats a mad comedy as well pst that is the
white land which is a village based story about assalt worker's lives in the rann of kutch in dhandi in gujrat also coming up is kuch love kuch
drama and special role that i have done in bhootnath which stars srk and big b
kool : when will u come as a solo hero? any plans on that front?
Ashish Chowdhary : the white land land , kisse oyaar karu and kuch love drama are pretty much solo or the so called two hero films but
these terminologies don't really matter to me i like being part of good scripts and will never think about doin' a film in which my role is above
the script i don't think its still time to shelve my self doen the throat of audiences
priya64 : How was it working with Sanjay Dutt? What do u think abt the acquisition made against him? was the verdict fair?
Ashish Chowdhary : anything bad enthrusted upon sanju is unfair to anyone who knows him as a person..the man is a child at heart,
too good a person to do anything wrong its time he's releived of all the pressures he 's suffered through last 14 years..u have to know him to
know he is absolutely innocent
dhamaal2 : How does it feel being appreciated for yur performance in dhamaal?
Ashish Chowdhary : luckily, everytime i throw in my bit of hardwork it has come across pretty well guess anybody wud be more than
satisfied when its presented well been watched n accept it thanks to all u viewers
priya64 : who are your fav actors and actress?
Ashish Chowdhary : all the khans are loved by every1, Big b is the god of indian cinema but nevertheless i have appreciated actors
like sanjeev kumar, amrish puri in the yesteryears n i give it to the young boys like hrithik and ritiesh and arshad for wot they are contributing
to the industry today
priya64 : is there any particular actress in the industry with whom u dream with?
Ashish Chowdhary : i wish i could work with actresses of teh caliber of kajol, rani and preiti and if it gets down who i think is the
amonst the pretiest i wod say katrina, lara and priyanka
priya64 : name one old hindi movie u would love to be part of if they had a remake to it?
Ashish Chowdhary :it wud surely be angoor if i felt like doing one of the comedy films from the past or else what big b played in

fozyn :which was your first film? i had also seen u on television with sonali kulkarni star bestsellers? how does it feel comign from small
screen do u wish to do tv again?
Ashish Chowdhary : i have high regards for tv it was what brought me into films n its what will accept me the day i won't do good in
films we cannot deny the mammoth growth of TV industry which is so heartening 4 all that talent our country produces it feels fab to have
made it in films but i miss all the love that i have got from tv.
priya64 : heard you are married. is it true Do u have any children yet?
Ashish Chowdhary : haha..yes, i got married a year back to my girl friend of several years but i need to grow up a bit before i have
a child

Ashish Chowdhary : i wud love to play what tom hanks in film cast away from my choice of hollywood films n from indian film industry
it wud be wot shahrukh playred in devdas (though im sure we don't need another one)
priya64 : how is inder kumar as a director? have u seen any of his previous movies, like ishq..beta masti
Ashish Chowdhary : i have seen all his films...he is personally the funniest man in the world n the big daddy of comedy films a super
sense of humour behind the camera which showed in gujrati films in front of the camera

Ashish Chowdhary : thanks for that she is done a great job in ramji londonwale i too really like dher work but she is a little lazy and u
shud know its not really easy going for amarried girl to grab films though i love that she would do some soon
Aamir : How do you describe Ajay Devgan ?
Ashish Chowdhary : helpful.super talented.complete brat. He took great care of me and i owe a lot of my confidence in acting to him

fairy tale book

Ashish Chowdhary : couple of them...retiesh's sanjeev kumar's scene..arshad and javed'd seen with Mr. Iyer whom they take lift and my
scene when my father's car blast...actually i love the whole film
dips : hi ashish how are u ? U look gr8 and i am a big fan ....i'd really like to see u and samita in a movie together.
Ashish Chowdhary : thankx dips! I too wish samita and me do a film film soon just that not too many couples are giving successful
films i think it wud be rite to wait for siutabble script and time but thankx again for such a sweet thought
priya64 : just a random fun question here... if u were stuck on an island with just 5 items what would it be?
Ashish Chowdhary : k, tough question. guess it wud be alot of good food(survive) a lot of toiletries to be fresh. my wardrobe so that i
don't have use leaves...my x-box to leep me coming and all of my family and friends who i cannot do without(though they are not items)
arpit : some of the gags are borrowed from english movies..like the pizza scene from dude where's my car,and the scene where your
dad's car crashes from road trip

Ashish Chowdhary : in Dhamaal by far is who's the 'daddy baby' and i speed it wud be teekhi teekhi which i absolutely love

Ashish Chowdhary : Amrita Arora is my gf in speed, zahid is with Tanushree, urmila is married to sanjay suri and saufi is aftaab cat

Ashish Chowdhary : Dhamaal is very gutsy script no. so called methods used for the complete film havinf romance , emotion,drama etc
its purely a comedy with no space for romance..the script did not allow having heroines and guess what we didn't even miss them

Ashish Chowdhary : its never one thing but i give to patience which means most other than the obviously, hardwork
samana : If you are offered for a Hollywood film, would you go for it? any particular director from hollywood
Ashish Chowdhary : its very obvious that any hungry actor wud look hollywood as the highest step on ladder.. i think i have to make
mark in my industry first be satisfied, deliver and also most importantly get some offers. Amongst my fav. Hollywood directors it cud be Martin
scorsazi, John wew, Quentin Tarantino and obviously Steven Spielberg
kenny : hey ashish you look like someone who can be the perfect face for the Indian version of Spiderman. do u agree want to do a
superhero film?
Ashish Chowdhary : hahaha... well spiderman usually has a mask so that means ur talking Tobbie Macqire! but then, thanks i take this
as compliment and yes, who wudn't want to play spiderman provided its made in Hollywood i would be make manas
makad manas..makad is actually a monkey
Wasiim : Any prognostic for the best actor/actress for this year's filmfare awards?
Ashish Chowdhary : sharukh khan for chak de and salman for partner
Donna : what's your secret guilty pleasure?
Ashish Chowdhary : it would be binging i m quite a foody i got to concentrate upon health so im guilty about loving pizzas, ice creams and all
other kinds of fatty food.
diya : after working in many projects what do you find the hardest thing about acting is
Ashish Chowdhary : being normal like everyday boy and not over acting. It’s comparably easier to play over the top for ex. a psycho, a
villain, a comic character than play normal
kenny : what kind of roles are you most comfortable in Action, comedy, emotional drama etc ?
Ashish Chowdhary : to be honest comedy and negative ( i had done grey character in Hum pardesi ho gaye in TV) comedy and negative
come easily to me i would like to put my hands into some romantic roles and also everybody loves action
omar : aashish what is the best way to break into bollywood.. Because I do believe I have a lot of potential, however im in the U.S.A
Ashish Chowdhary : u have to come down first that’s v. imp meet the right people go for auditions., patience is the best virtue other
than hard work.
kinu:how’s it working with amitabh and juhi in bhootnath
Ashish Chowdhary: well it feels good to be a part of film with those two mega stars its just a satisfying feeling. a sense of growth in the
midst of being made up as an onida devil since the prosthetics are killing but it was great talking to guys. .thanks for loving Dhamaal and with
your support n love will bring u some bigger and better films soon until then lots of love and big hugs.
