"Sanjay Dutt is a great professional" - Indra Kumar Click here to add this article to My Clips

By Faridoon Shahryar, August 7, 2007 - 14:22 IST

“I think you have to be a great professional for in spite of being under so much of stress, Sanju still came and worked on the sets,” says Indra Kumar, director of Dhamaal, one of the Sanjay Dutt movies that is complete and ready for release. If you recall, after being acquitted by the TADA court for terrorism charges seven months ago, Dutt resumed work on Dhamaal within a day of the court’s judgment and it will be the first movie that will release after he was sentenced for a six year rigorous imprisonment under Arms Acts recently.

“My film was a comedy and it was all the more difficult because the kind of pressure he was under, it’s hard to do comedy scenes as somewhere in the back of the mind the danger is lurking. I am really grateful to him and also have great admiration for him. I’m grateful he completed the film and not only completed but he did a great job. You’ll agree when you’ll see the film,” Kumar added.

Dhamaal is a comedy about four men Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaffery, Ritesh Deshmukh and Ashish Chaudhry and their encounters with inspector played by Sanjay Dutt. The music is by Adnan Sami and the film releases on September 7th. Indra Kumar’s last film Pyaare Mohan didn’t hit the bull’s eye. Will Dhamaal, a 2 hour 12 minute film, bring him back in the big league? The question shall be answered soon….
