The Cannes Diary: Day 4: India party ignored
By Tanuj Garg (from Cannes), May 21, 2007 - 07:28 IST
Tanuj Garg, senior columnist and international movies professional at Studio 18, will give some quick daily pointers in the midst of his busy Cannes schedule, over the key festival dates…..only for India FM
Day 4
- The screening of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' bagged a heartening response! Interestingly, many Americans attended the screening, probably given that Chapter 3 has a US connection!
- Michael Moore's documentary 'Sicko' and Kim-di Duk's film 'Breath' have been bagging rave reviews in this morning's trade dailies. 'Sicko' particularly was the talking point with everyone present as it takes a solid dig at the American medical system
- Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards were here to promote their new film, 'Blonde and Blonder', which had its debut in the market
- Mani Ratnam was seen touring the market with his colleague
- Preity Zinta (looking chic as always) was enjoying Cannes at night with friends Kailash and Aarti Surendranath as the trio walked around The Village late last night
- The Times London cocktails do in conjunction with Screen International was a relaxed affair. We enjoyed the evening sunshine dipping our feet in the 2ft-deep pond on the terrace of Hotel 3.14!
- 'Sex And The City' star Kim Cattrall's (Samantha) new HBO programme 'Sexual Intelligence' is being extensively advertised. It features sex tips from the world's premier (s)expert!
- None of the trade dailies have bothered to cover the India party that took place on Friday at The Majestic Beach! I'm not sure about this but I'm told that even the Minister of Information & Broadcasting didn't show up...
