"I did a workshop with the NSD. By the time my father's acting school had started I had almost started shooting for Woodstock Villa" - Sikander Kher Click here to add this article to My Clips

When every star son and daughter were being launched, everyone was wondering where the unconventional looking son of Kiron and Anupam Kher was. Well he is finally here. Sikandar Kher the hunky lad is all set to make his debut with Woodstock Villa.

So what took him so long to make his debut? “I was waiting for the right film to come along. There were lots of offers but I was waiting for the right one at the right time.”

Like every star son did, he too has an added advantage of having parents from the industry? “I don't know if people will sign me because of them but for sure I have grown up here and people have known me. I have always wanted to be an actor and I have been open about that fact. The advantage of having my parents in the industry is that they are always there for advice. So if you are asking for an advantage of them being around then the biggest advantage is that anything that comes my way in question, I would have people from this industry for advice. As compared to a complete newcomer who has nobody from the film industry. So it's a huge plus point and an added advantage and I thank my parents for being there for me”.

Talking about his parents, his father's acting school must have also been an added advantage when it came to his training in acting “No I did a workshop with the National School of Drama and by the time my father's acting school had started I had almost started shooting for Woodstock Villa.”

So now that the charming actor has been bitten by the acting bug, how has his experience been while shooting for his first film Woodstock Villa “It was fantastic. I loved going to work and shooting. I loved the whole experience of making a movie. I just enjoy the whole process of filmmaking. I have always been a film buff. I have grown up watching films. So it's a great opportunity and a chance to do something that I always wanted to do.”

A little hesitantly he is about to talk about his role in the film but the next moment he decides not to “I can't reveal too much about my character because there is a mystery aspect to it in the film”.

Woodstock Villa which is a thriller is being produced by White Feather films. So how was it working with the producers Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta? “It was great. Not once did they make me feel like a newcomer. I have known Sanjay Dutt since my childhood. He is like a father figure.”

Another film which Sikandar is all set to do is Raasteand this time around he will get to star with childhood buddy Abhishek Bachchan along with Aishwarya Rai and John Abraham. But when does the film go on floor? “The film will be on floors by the end of this year.”

So with a great start what's next on the star's list? “Hopefully a few. There are about five films but talks are still on so I don't want to talk much about them till everything is finalized and I have something to talk about.”
