Confessions of super stars ….
By Bhavna Chopra, March 23, 2007 - 05:17 IST
Breaking News – Personal Diaries have been released where Aby Baby confesses having loved another actress before Ash! Salman tells why all hell broke loose when
he broke off with the Blue eyed Girl! Mahesh Bhatt has NO Opinion what so ever! and more..
Hmm…don’t you get so excited, this news is nothing but a play of my naughty little mind, wandering on areas unexplored and issues un-talked off. But what off shoots
this dirty trick is the recent boom in the Bollywood trend of autobiographies and biographies getting written on our beloved stars. The fad is not anything new but off late it
is highly in demand. From Jessica Hines to Anupama Chopra, Mushtaq Sheikh to Khushwant Singh, every known author, film journalist to an aspiring writer has tried his
master stroke with our celebrities.
Anyways moving beyond the unanswered and towards the trend let me tell you what’s getting very hollywoodish these days. It is the fact that Bollywood celebs have
decided to write their own bios! And one such latest khabar doing the rounds is of veteran singer, Ashaji writing her own aatmakatha. Wow! It sure shot is
going to be a ‘Must read’ and like million others even I am eagerly awaiting its release. But at the same time it also makes me so curious to know who would want to
read Shilpa Shetty’s Chicken Curry on Big Brother experience.
With no offence or pun intended, lets move on to the next debatable (safer) issue questioning that no matter how fascinating and stimulating these ‘coffee table books’
may seem, isn’t it all getting a tad bit too boring and repetitive. Considering the amount of time and pains taken, research and patience put in, do these books any more
prove to be a page turner? Well how diverse or how different can you get about BIG B or for that matter SRK? They both are individual person, the super star with one
life and same old experiences. The authors’ perspectives on their lives may change, opinions may differ, more movies may get added to their existing filmographies but
the subject is done to death. Oops! and how can I forget Sholay.
With an unimaginable explosion in media and various mediums, every day you get to read and hear something or the other about these super stars. To an effect if SRK’s
having a back pain it makes news, Big B sneezes on the sets, actresses fainting to someone’s mobile getting robbed. For god sake guys give it a break! On a more
serious note I would like to give my due respect to all those writers and authors putting their heart and soul to give us an honest insight into the much protected personal
life and space of our adored and admired filmy stars! Without their efforts we wouldn’t know the person behind the personality, the failures behind their success! The
adventures behind their experiences and the struggle to achieve the stardom they well deserved.
But nevertheless I strongly believe that in today’s changing times what we require is a confession session or a diary version from the horse’s mouth! What IF the Actors
and celebs come clean and write their heart felt in these books called DIARIES…
Would these diaries sell like hot cakes Or simply be gulped down? You decide considering the list of current issues at hand (all in a jest)

went wrong between Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan? Or

Period!
