By now we all are aware that UTV’s forthcoming flick Hattrick directed by Milan Luthria has a connection with the game of cricket. So with the
ninth Cricket World Cup tournament slated to kick off on March 13, UTV has come up with a unique idea of promoting their film.
The team of Hattrick has shot for a special promotional video titled ‘Wicket Bachao’, which will not only help them promote their film
Hattrick but also act as an inspiring anthem for the Indian cricket team. The colourful video features the entire cast of Hattrick including
Kunal Kapoor, Rimi Sen, Nana Patekar, Danny and Paresh Rawal. But the list doesn’t end there.
Usha Uthup who has lent her vocals to this zany, inspiring song also features in the video. Her co-singer is Earl (of Jaan-e-maan fame). Add to
it cricket commentators Harsha Bhogle and Gautam Bhimani who also shake a leg in the song. And last but not the least the topping comes in the
form of John Abraham who makes a special appearance in the song.
Says director Milan Lutharia, “Harsha Bhogale and Gautam Bhimani who feature in the video are also part of the film and play themselves as
commentators. There is also a special appearance by John Abraham but only in the video. He doesn’t star in the film”. Luthria directed John in Taxi
No 9211 and John couldn’t resist when Milan made a request to feature in the music video.
Ask Milan about the film’s correlation with cricket and he replies, “The film is not about cricket, it is about the lives of the five characters in the film
and cricket is only a metaphor for the film”.
After Hattrick, Milan Luthria is all set for his next film which is titled Bihaad. “Bihaad means a ravine. It’s an out-an-out action adventure.
The film has a line up of one of the most talented actors in the industry like Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Vidya Balan.”
