"I fumbled on stage after getting the award" - Mithoon

Mithoon is elated. He has just bagged his first ever award in Bollywood for Stardust 'Best Debutant Composer' of 2006 for the musical score of Bas Ek Pal.
"I would be lying if I say I wasn't excepting it", the modest 21 year old says, "but still the real feeling of actually getting an award is really unique!"
And what was the feeling? "Can't really describe that? First of all though I was being told by one and all, including Sayeed Quadri saab [lyricist of many hit numbers by Mithoon] that I would be bagging this award, I wanted to believe it till the time I bagged the award in my hands. Secondly, when I was called on stage, I truly fumbled (laughs)!"
Why? He must have prepared his Thank You speech already. Isn't it? "Ha ha, see people talk a lot about how awards are just for the day and later you have to get back in the grind. Even I believed so but when the real moment comes, you realize that that day itself becomes BIG," he confesses.
So how exactly did he fumble? "I started off well saying that I wasn't too sure if many people in the audience knew me", he jokes, "but later I forgot to acknowledge so many people who had made a difference to my short career so far, including Quadri saab himself. Later I did cover up while addressing the media but I guess I need to be better at delivering 'Thank You' speeches!"
He better do that. Filmfare awards are round the corner! "Let me just cherish this award for the moment. At the moment I have no clue if I am getting any more awards. But yes, if they come nothing better than that. By God's grace, I have been able to do good work so far. Hope I live up to everyone's expectations in years to come," he signs off!
