Rank Last week Film Plusses Minuses
2 Guru Just like the film is doing steady business at the box office, even its music is following a similar trend and is now back at #1 spot of the charts. Can we now have a new edition of the music album on stands that includes the theme song 'Guru Bhai Aaya Chey'? 'Ek Lo Ek Muft' was never a great composition. It's presence in the film too only breaks the narrative!
1 Salaam-E-Ishq It's a pity to see the album beginning to loose its steam a little with the film failing to hold much ground at the box office. The sales have of the album too has come down now which has resulted in this superb score by Shankar Ehsaan Loy falling down by a spot One of the best songs in the album, 'Mera Dil', has been edited from the final cut. Wish it was there!
3 Dhoom 2 Pritam's 'just released' 'Just Married' may be struggling to find a foothold in the charts in spite of boasting of some real melodious music but on the other hand his rhythm of 'Dhoom 2' still plays on loud If it wasn't for 'Crazy' and 'Dhoom Again', the album may have struggled to make a mark
4 Anwar While Indian audience has lapped up the melodious 'Maula Mere' and 'Tose Naina Laage Re', reports keep coming in about how NRI audience too is catching fancy for these songs. Result? In spite of the film being a colossal failure at the box office, the music is still much in demand! One wonders how would have the album worked if its entire soundtrack was done by Mithoon?
5 Don - The Chase Begins Again Music of SRK films have always sold with rare exceptions. Well, 'Don' is no exception as the demand for the film's soundtrack remains consistent over the week. His popularity can be gauged by the fact that even his single 'Ek Sawaal Ka Sawaal Hai', which has been devised for the promotional campaign of KBC is much in demand! None
8 Red 'Aafreen' and 'Aameen' have done the trick; especially with the imaginative music videos devised for the two tracks. Even though the film's starcast may say that these music videos have nothing to do with the actual film, the fact is that they are only adding on the film's promotion in a big way and making the album vie for the Top-5 slot Apart from 'Aafreen' and 'Aamin', the remaining tracks are plain average
7 Namastey London Consistent at the lower end, it still has all the time in the world to consolidate as the film is now coming only in March end which gives ample time for the film and music promotion 'Namastey London' has the potential to move up in the charts further but the sales movement so far hasn't been all the impressive
New Black Friday Surprise of the year! Coinciding with the release of the movie, Indian Ocean's soundtrack for 'Black Friday' has suddenly caught on and the demand has started pouring in, especially in the urban centers. 'Bandeh' was always a great number while numerous background pieces only add on to the overall appeal For those looking for a typical Bollywood score, there is nothing in it!
10 Honeymoon Travels... Even though 'Sajnaji' is a hit number, it has not managed to propel the fortunes of the entire soundtrack. This has resulted in the album to stay on in the charts but only towards the very bottom. One waits on to see how the fortunes turn once the film releases None. The album has everything from fusion to tango to soft numbers to make it stand out amidst the crowd
6 Woh Lamhe The album sees a surprise fall by as many as 4 spots this week. Nevertheless, the music has done extraordinarily well throughout its tenure and would count as yet another memorable score coming from Vishesh Films None
