Photo Feature: Limping to reach places

Another year has gone by and we pinpoint three performances that we think stood out in their own unique way. A perfect example of giving an arm and a leg…well only a leg for these roles.
Someone had once made a quote- “You can't get into the Hall of Fame unless you limp.” Sounds corny but well that line makes a bit of sense to us as we present to you this photo-feature.
Shah Rukh Khan (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna), Arjun Rampal (Don) and Saif Ali Khan (Omkara) put their acting skills to the test this year in their films by acting limp.
Shah Rukh plays a football player who suffers a leg injury and starts limping. His injury forces him to retire and take up coaching instead in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
Arjun Rampal continues where Pran left of in the 70's Don. In Farhan Akhtar’s version of the film Arjun acts as a limp but agile Jasjit. He gets shot in the leg by Boman Irani which subsequently leads to his disability.
And finally there was Saif Ali Khan who took his acting caliber to newer heights as Langda Tyagi in the Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara winning numerous awards in India and internationally as well. Carrying off a difficult role, Saif pulled it off with élan with amazing body language and performance.
While Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Don raked in the moolah for the producers, Omkara was highly appreciated by critics and international film festivals.
Now here’s definitely three stars who limped their way to the top.
