I am very careful about success when it comes to me. It has destroyed more people than failure. I strongly believe that a great company is made of a good team: production and creative.
Because the more you establish parameters and encourage people to take initiatives within those boundaries, the more you multiply your own effectiveness by the effectiveness of other people! And that is why I prefer “we” rather than “I”! You put together the right team; you’re going to win!
I was always attracted to directors who have a strong visual sense. My goal is to have the audience know that when they see my name, they know they’ll get quality entertainment.
I am a ruthless businessman, but for me family will always come before work. Friendship means a lot to me. That’s why I have always worked with friends. I can never work with anybody I can’t get along with, even if it’s the most successful person in the world.
There are some very close friends that I have in the industry today ¬ some of whom include Sajid Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. I’ve known Salman through the course of my films, while Akshay is my childhood friend. They are special to me and I love working with them.
Jaane-E-Mann is up for release in Diwali. It took a long of time for the script to be complete and the film to be shot. But I know hard work pays in the long run. I feel this will be my first big platform for success.
All my films give me sleepless nights because I am never 100 per cent satisfied with what I do. That’s my nature, though I am a cool person. I never get angry, but before the release of every film my life is full of stress.
I constantly re-educate and re-invent myself, because I believe that we must develop our minds and continuously sharpen it and invest in the augmentation of our competencies to avoid becoming obsolete.
I am very passionate about my work and just can’t compromise on quality.
I need constant reassurance that my project is headed in the right direction and that it’s a winning formula. It’s better to be involved from the beginning than to regret later, because there is a lot of money and hard work involved. You see, nothing, and I mean nothing succeeds like success.
There is no substitute to hard work. And ‘want’, the mistress of invention, still tempts me on! That’s a mistress I can’t do without. Work gives me my high.
‘Right’ is whatever profits my company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. ‘Wrong’ is whatever harms it. I’ve achieved everything I have because of my hard work, dedication and desire. “He begins to die, that quits his desire!”
