They’re all back
The hilarious trio of Akshay Kumar – Paresh Rawal – Suniel Shetty who had you in splits in one of
the most memorable comedy films of Hindi cinema – Hera Pheri, is back. So this summer its
Phir Hera Pheri that happens to be the one of the first sequels releasing from a spate of
sequels lined up this year (Krrish, Dhoom 2, Munnabhai Meets Mahatma, etc)
The trailer of Hera Pheri starts with scenes from the prequel. Some funny sequences from
the original film are flashed in black and white. Then the lead characters played by the same
actors are re-introduced in the trailer with context to the sequel.
Akshay Kumar as Raju is the risk taker.
Paresh Rawal as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte is the one who took it.
Sunil Shetty as Shyam is the one who will have to pay for it.

Phir Hera Pheri starts where Hera Pheri ended. At the end of the first part, the
trio was shown bagging big money from Kulbhushan Kharbanda out of goodwill. So the trio who were
in desperate need of money in the first part have enough of it in the sequel. Life turns lavish
for the trio. From rags they switch to rich attires. Their entire look changes! But the viewer’s
outlook towards these characters won’t change because they bring with them the same amount of
hilarity.
The introduction scene of Rimmi Sen is exactly the same as Tabu was introduced in the prequel.
The trio indulges in a brawl snatching Paresh Rawal’s pyjamas when Rimmi enters the room.
The seen is perhaps intentionally retained to remind of the classic comic scene from the
original.
And despite Baburao Ganpatrao Apte gains all the money, he doesn’t seem to lose his old habits.
Apte who was fascinated with his well and had a habit of fetching water from it for a bath, does
the same even here. Just this time the well is replaced by a swimming pool.
Bipasha Basu clad in pastel saris makes a late appearance but looks ethereal. The trailer ends on
the scene showing the trio dressed as jokers. A new game seems to start.
Phir Hera Pheri is produced by Firoz Nadiadwala and directed by Neeraj Vora who had
written the screenplay and dialogues of the first part.
