When Urmila and Ashmit were made bakras

We’re all celebrating April Fools Day today. It’s the perfect day to dig up those stories about the best pranks played. Pranks on the sets have become a part and parcel of every movie. In fact, the shooting seems incomplete without making someone a bakra!
So here’s something you didn’t know about the soon-to-be-released Banaras. It was this same day last year when the shooting of the film was just being wrapped up. The only portions pending were the holi song which was being choreographed by Saroj Khan. Urmila was in a bit of a hurry as she has to catch a flight from Banaras after the schedule.
However, Saroj Khan had some other plans. When she came on the sets, she along with the director Pankaj Parashar decided to have some fun with the lead actors Urmila and Ashmit. As soon as the shooting started, Parashar started ordering Sarojji’s assistant around. The assistant acted like she was extremely offended and shot back that she took orders only from Sarojji. What followed was a heated argument. Soon things got out of hand and the assistant walked out of the sets in a flurry. The next obvious event was that the shoot was brought to a standstill.
The actors, especially Urmila panicked because she had very less time on hand. Ashmit too was quite dumbfounded since all the other days, things had been smooth. He decided to play peacemaker and convinced the assistant to come back. When she returned, Parashar thought he would have some more fun. He demanded that the assistant should apologize.
It was at this time that Parashar and Sarojji could not control themselves and burst out laughing! Poor Urmila and Ashmit had fallen for the prank! The director and choreographer sure had a field day on the sets! But we’re sure they were forgiven. It was officially fools day, after all!
