No more 'rona-dhona' for Bipasha!
Bipasha looks at us scornfully and remarks, “When I did Jism, the media labeled me a sex-symbol. I then moved on to serious cinema but that somehow didn't work. I realized that what I consider as great cinema isn't necessarily what my fans agree to” We tell her that, it might be a little too cynical to say that. “Not when you get empty theatres to laud a performance where you have put your blood, sweat and tears! Madhoshi, Chehra, Rakht turned out to be duds at the box office” she shoots back.
“That's when I decided that I am going to give people what they like best, glamour, glitz and style. So I have Barsaat which showcases me different yet glamorous. Dhoom is a great blend of youthfulness, style and fashion, Phir Hera Pheri where my style is more casual and laidback. I am really enjoying my 2nd innings” she signs off.

“I play a 22 year old rich girl who is in love with Bobby” the Bong tells us. There's another hottie vying for him too, right? “Yes, Priyanka's character too is in love with Bobby” she admits. And the cutsie finally goes to? “Ah, not that easy. But I can tell you that both of us love him dearly. Just that we belong to different worlds, but the intensity is all the same!” she pierces us with those kohl-lined eyes. “It's a beautiful love story with strong music. I think love & emotions never go out-of-style' she winds.

Do we smell deglam here? “Deglam, yes but don't read boring!” she warns us. “Manish has designed my clothes and that guy will change religion but not let go of glamour” she laughs. Good one, we tell her. So what is her look in the film, “I play this foreign-returned girl, so you'll see me in halters, jeans, figure-fits, just the way a city-bred is. Relax, nothing too scandalous to upset the Censor” the seductress winks.
Trade talk
Barsaat is seen as a heavyweight emotional drama. The music scored by Nadeem-Shravan is the calling card of the film. Suneel claims to resurrect Bobby's career with this one, just the way his Jaanwar did the trick for Akshay.

If you are to trust the trailers, the woman looks like a million dollars! The spark is back and the flab's gone! The 'kamar' doesn't look like a 'kamra' anymore! Bipasha looks like an oomph-goddess with those curves that the camera so loves. “My outfits are jazzy, shimmery, yet not over-the-top” she remarks. It's after a long time that I like looking at myself in the mirror” she treats us to a candid moment.

The film is a biggie from Boney Kapoor & has a motley of stars from Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol & Celina Jaitley. This comedy directed by Aneez Bazmee about 3 married men rustling an affair with a club dancer looks like a total entertainer and Bonny should sure hear the buzz, it's pretty positive.

Speed thrill for Bips fan- Dhoom II
It came as a surprise to most that the speed devil of Dhoom, John, wasn't going to be a part of the sequel. “I would have loved to have John in the sequel but it's a call at the script level that had to be taken. But don't be too sure of things…” smiles the reclusive Sanjay Gadhvi.
Toss the question to John and the hunk replies, “I just won the best villain award for Dhoom (IIFA), asking for anything more is being greedy” he smiles. “The film gave me a career lease and Bipasha is doing the film, so it isn't like I am not related to the film anymore. I am thrilled for her!” he says sportingly. Bips is tight-lipped, “Wait till you hear it from YashRaj. But let me assure you, we have something very interesting for you” she smiles.

Trust the Chopras to keep the production totally under-cover, so there isn't much known. The cast remains as Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Ash, Bipasha, Hrithik Roshan & Rimii in a spl.app. Coming from the Chopra banner, the film is keenly anticipated and distributors have the success of Dhoom to cushion any doubts. The casting is the highpoint.
What to watch out for…?
Hrithik as a baddie…hmm…definitely worth a dekho!
“In Apharan I am 'seriously' sexy”

We tell her that the quote was a cracker. “Frankly, this 'deglam' bit is now bugging me, the media isn't able to get a hang on their tongue” snaps. “The plain simple fact is that I play a small town girl in Apharan, now I can't possibly saunter around in hot shorts or a sarong, can I?” she volleys back. “Apharan deals with the kidnapping business that is rampant in Bihar, the film is realistic, so is my look” she tries straight talk. “I play Ajay's love interest. Somewhere along the story; they detach and then meet after a long period. I liked the script, it is among the better films I have done” she replies.

The face is scrubbed clean of makeup, plain kohl-lined eyes, Rs300 odd cotton saris and the hair toned down. Our fear is that the camera might almost not recognize the siren! Does the look suit her? Not too sure, but as long as the character looks real & raw, we are game, what say?

Prakash Jha is sure the raja of realistic cinema. Gangajal even made a tidy sum. The film didn't hurt distributors and they broke even. Apharan is based on the real-life incident in Bihar where kidnappings are conducted as a business. The film is sold at a modest price and recovery doesn't look difficult.
What to watch out for…?
A hard-hitting story and stellar performances from the cast.

Actors who have worked with Prakash have more often than not bagged a national award, do you too expect that Bipasha?' asked a scribe, “I don't think so, but yes, Ajay is sure to pick the national award. He has given an outstanding performance!” replied the bong beauty.

What's Bollywood's favorite sex symbol doing in a comedy? “Plainly because I wanted to laugh and chill. I was doing too many sob stories, so I decided that it was time to do something different. And I am having a blast with Akshay and Suniel. They are so good with their lines”
And what is she playing? “It's a sequel to Hera Pheri and I play Anuradha. She is an insurance agent who is out to dupe the three out of their booty. And Suniel's character takes to her because she has the same name as his earlier girlfriend. It's a riot!” she tells us.

The look is casual. It isn't ultra-glam like her earlier avataars. From whatever we have seen, the seductress looks simply sensational in the saris she's wearing. “I have always been open to sampling with my looks” Bipasha comforts her fans.
Trade talk
This one is looked with a lot of curiosity. Hera Pheri was a proven genre and a proven hit, so the risk factor seems a lot less. Besides, both Akshay and Suniel are riding a crest in their respective careers. Also the hilarious Babubhai isn't going to loose charm that easy. So the exhibitors are only too happy to open theatre gates to this fun feast.
What to watch out for…?
“In Hera Pheri the 3 stooges had no money and so were in a constant mess, basically, they had very little of everything but in the sequel, you'll get to see what happens when you have too much of anything, that is the twist!” squeals the stunner.
