“You are a freak!”

“That was Aamir shouting at me” Amisha says, giving us a coy smile.
Her 2005 release, Mangal Pandey opposite the elusive Aamir Khan is already on air and is making big news. “Yes that has got me pretty excited. I play the role of a widow. I realize that I have been going through a low-phase but it's not like I hook all my hopes to one film but yes, Mangal Pandey is going to be special. I have thoroughly enjoyed doing the film, it's been tremendous” she says in her well accented English.
From whatever can be gathered of the publicity material, she is wearing a very mellow look, we remark. “The character is demure, so is the look. I have gone completely pale for it. On the first day of the shoot, I was a bit apprehensive about my dark circles showing or the camera lights catching the unevenness of my skin. So I came with a basecoat on my face. Aamir gave me one look and shouted, “You are a freak! With a skin like that, you want to hide it behind a base! Take it off right away!” I thought he made sense. So I have a 'just-washed' look in the film” she comments.
