Sushmita & 400 feet shots!

Yeah, Sush has a thing for 400 feet shots. And the person to start this fever was her Main Aisa Hi Hoon director Harry Baweja. Sush told us this sometime back. “It was a courtroom sequence of mine and Harry did the bravest thing but using a 400 feet reel for the shot” Sush exclaims. “Let me to help you there. A 400 reel shot is a 4 min sequence that captures the midshot of an artist” she breaks down the jargon for our earlier confused faces.
And recently on the sets of Kalpana Lajmi's Chingari, we caught her talking the same. “Kalpana is a dream to work with. I call her a scene person rather than a techie. She doesn't fuss about the camera angles and shots. It's all about performance. Kalpana is a gift to actors,” the Bengali beauty tells us. “Kalpana says, 'Mere actor ko chod do, unhe apna kaam karne do'. She then sets up a 400 feet shot and lets us do our own thing. I have done 7 of those 4 min sequences in her film and it's incredible!” Sush smiles. But what is that gets her so jumpy about the 400 feet sequence? we ask “You got to understand that these scene's don't have any of those fancy shot takings. You got to hold the audiences with your face, expressions and voice. There is no cleavage, grooves or adaa that can bail you out here. If you are a bad actor, the camera catches that!” she articulates.
