Get over the 2-minute trailers. We have something meatier for you. For all you hardcore movie buffs who just don't want to wait till Fridays for your favorite releases, we have some exclusive video footage of the screener of this week's release 'D' especially for you. Forget 2-3 minute teasers and feast on a wholesome 10-minute footage of Ram Gopal Varma's latest underworld flick 'D'.
The screener gives the actual feel of the film and the better part is that it's chronologically cut. D in the title stands for Deshu, the lead protagonist of the film played by Randeep Hooda. Deshu plays the son of a police constable who enters the Mumbai underworld by his own choice and is not forced by any reasons or circumstances as such. He begins his underworld journey by working for an established don Hashimbhai (Goga Kapoor). As he sets himself in the gang his success creates rivalry amongst other gang members - Mukarram (Sushant Singh) and Shabbir (Yashpal Sharma). Meanwhile he sets up his own gang with Raghav (Chunky Pandey) and also falls in for a film actress (Rukhsar).

The story may seem conventional but it's the stark and naturalistic handling of the subject by debutante director Vishram Sawant that catches your notice. 'D' largely banks upon the characterization of Randeep Hooda as the cold-blooded underworld king with ice in his veins.
Touted as a prequel to Company where Deshu represents how Malik of Company (played by Ajay Devgan) would have been in his early days of establishing himself in the underworld, the only connection between the two films is apparent from the character of Rukhsar, a film star who turns Deshu's mistress subsequently. Manisha Koirala exemplified a very similar character in Company as Malik's girlfriend. Rukhsar's getup, hairdo and penchant for smoking, very much reminds of Manisha from Company.
