Sushmita Sen v/s Michelle Pfeiffer

We recently visited Sushmita on the sets of Chingari to catch up on her upcoming release, Main Aisa Hi Hoon. 'Yet another supporting actress role?' we ask. “You can believe that until you hear what I have to say” she replies, as if catching the sulk on our face. “Harryji told me that he was making this film that is an adaptation of 'I am Sam'. And that he wanted me to play Michelle Pfiffer's role, that of an advocate. And I told him upright that Michelle Pfeiffer didn't have a great role. If I were to be in 'I am Sam', I wanted to play nothing but Sam!” she says animatedly. “You see, I am a very greedy actor. When I do something, I want to be doing the best that there is to the project” she laughs.
“But now I realize that I must have upset the man. Yet he asked me to hear out the story and my character in particular instead of taking a rash decision. Must admit, I wasn't interested because I had pretty much made up my mind against it. Because I didn't want to be saddled with yet another 'supporting actress' role like you said, that didn't have meat to it” she takes a dig at us.
“But on hindsight, I am so fortunate that the man extended that patience to me. Because the moment Harry began to narrate my character of Neeti Khanna, I was hooked! The graph that the role took was mind blowing! Harry has given my character such a free hand that she is among the most vital loops in the film. The transformation that the character undergoes is outstanding! So what happens to poor Miss Michelle? we kid. “Ah! We have beaten Michelle Pfeiffer hollow!” Sush gesticulates with a wave of her hand. “You got to see this one, it's fascinating!” she says with a spark that is very rare, very Sush.
