Are Ritiesh & Neha Kool with adult jokes?

To kickstart a Kyaa Kool Hain Hum Special, we give you the first half of the Kool couple, Ritiesh Deshmukh and Neha Dhupia.
He may have an umbilical cord with politics but driving to studios every morning is what gives him a kick. After an unsure debut, Ritiesh Deshmukh has slowly emerged as the comic cutie on the block. The Fattu is now flamboyant as he plays the role of Karu Pandey in the madcap comedy this season.
Kya Kool Hain Hum seems to have a lot of Masti. Tell us about it
(Smiles) Yeah. Well, the film is about 2 guys who are pretending to be cool. How they meet each other and then meet trouble, confusion and chaos is what the film is all about.
Ever thought people would accept you in a comic avatar in such a big manner?
Honestly, I had no idea that people would like me in light roles. I just did the work that came my way. But must admit; I am pleased with the response that's come my way.

What comes easy to Ritiesh, action, feather light roles or drama-shama?
Frankly, I like myself best in Naach. Yeah, I'll tell you why. In everything else, you have crutches, for example, in comedy you have lines, expressions, mannerisms that help you out. But in a film like Naach where I had to be more myself yet make it look interesting on screen. Now that was tough.
Your equation with your male co-stars…
Luckily, I have had a great equation with most of my co-stars. Vivek I and Aftab had a blast during Masti and same was the case with K2H2.
So how did Tusshar & you vibe?
To start with Tusshar is a very different guy. He is a very sincere actor and a quite guy. But he does have a sense of humor and quite a strange one at that. Working with him was great fun!
And your leading lady, Neha…
Well, about Neha I will let out a secret, one day during one of our dubbing schedules, I just heard her and was bowled over. The lady has a fabulous voice, I tried to reach her standardsl but I simply can't. Also, you'll see her do a bit of comedy & she has done a neat job.
What is your take on the double entendre dialogues & jokes in K2H2?
I'll tell you what happens most of the time, people go watch the film, laugh through the “dirty jokes” but when they leave cinema halls, they are uncomfortable with the fact that they enjoyed the humor. But I accept that, each one to his/her sensibility.
But what cynics too need to understand is that we have made a film with a certain flavor, now if people find that offensive, we have an adult certificate to inform them that 'Look this film has adult humor' So if that upsets people, they should stay away.

They say 2 wrongs make a right. K2H2 has wrong guys, wrong situations. How many more wrongs to make one right, Neha?
(Laughs) I am not giving that away! Now that is something that you have to find out for yourself. There is a lot of mess, confusion. It's a comedy of errors. You need to figure that out in the theatre.
Tell us something about your character?
Well, I play the role of a psychiatrist. She is a very sweet, simple girl who gets on with life in a routine manner until she meets the boys and other characters. Now this throws her life totally out of gear.
Without beating around the bush, are you only a part of the comedy or do some comedy yourself?
Well, frankly I don't have the wittiest lines but I have no regrets either, because the humor and comedy is happening all around me. I keep a straight face all through but the punch is always there. There is subtle subtext of humor.
Pun intended, you are 'seriously funny', eh?
Yes!
What about this entire hoopla about the film having some cheap jokes?
For starters, the film has bizarre situations and is a funny plot. So it shouldn't shock people if they hear something naughty. There is nothing out of context being said or any forced humor in the narrative. Guess that should shut mouths.
Talk has it that it is a sex comedy, true?
Yes, K2H2 is a sex comedy. It has a lot of sex and a lot of comedy. Also, a lot has to do with the kind of the person that you are. If you are a pervert, you are going to find the jokes dirty!
A recent promo has an astrologer tell Tusshar, 'Tumhare zindagi mein jald hi ek ladki aane wali hain jiske dil pe til hoga' and the camera catches a tight closeup of the actresses cleavage. This is the humor we are talking about. Do you approve of it?
May be yes, may be not. But if it offends certain people, they always have an option to avoid watching it.
