If you can visualize Arshad Warsi only in comic characters, be prepared for a surprise. Sehar will change your vision. The promo of Sehar that opens on a grave note with Arshad Warsi rubbing blood off his face explores a new dimension to his performance prowess. Arshad plays Superintendent of Police in the film and has a serious somber shade to his role much apart from his conventional comic character.
Seher in Urdu means the morning. Under the banner of Choice Films, Seher is written and directed by debutante Kabeer Kaushik. It teams up the Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye pairing of Arshad Warsi and Mahima Chaudhary along with Pankaj Kapur, Sushant Singh and a horde of seasoned theatre artists.

The trailer opens on a heavy bass-enhanced voiceover of intense urdu lines that go like
Yeh daag daag ujala, yeh shabgazeeda sehar
Woh intezar tha jiska, yeh woh sehar to nahi
Chaos and commotion follows while the background score with classical notes intensifies the impact.
Bollywood has seen a multitude of cop films on encounter killings in the recent past. What seems to be distinctive about Seher is that it is set in Uttar Pradesh and based on real life incidents on the politics revolving around railway contracts.
Seher delineates the journey of a newly appointed 31-year old SSP of Lucknow, instrumental in bringing together a group of committed police officers under the aegis of Special Task Force. It unleashes the ever-changing dynamics of UP politics from railway contracts, ISI involvement, politician-Mafia-police-builder nexus, pro-activism of criminal gangs, sophisticated yet rigid red-tape to criminalization of University students.
