'Clothes maketh a man' reads a famous quote
But the bare-chested Salman begs to differ
Picture this…
Venue: St.Petersberg, Moscow
The scene stealer…A Russian lady fires the Khan in front of the entire cast and crew for messing up with his clothes!
Now for the plot…
Lucky deals with Aditya and Lucky, 2 expats staying in Moscow. Now since the film shows them born and bred in Moscow, director Radhika Rao-Vinay Sapru were keen that the actors look the part and hired a local designer to fix clothes for the two. Trouble walked onto the sets, in the shape of a burly, middle aged Russian woman…Mama.
Apparently, Mama is very keen on getting the costumes right for the artists. She had worked around the clock and arranged clothes at short notice. “Yes, the clothes were fabulous. Casual yet had a strong Petersbergian flavor to it,” admits director Radhika. Getting back to the film, it was the day of the shoot and the crew began to roll…
Now is the twist, even after being told by the EP that she could leave for the day Mama insisted that she did prefer hanging around to check on the stars just if the outfits caused any bother. And that was it, shooting was midway and Mama noticed something. She sprang from her seat and asked the AD to stop the shoot. When the guy refused to do so, Mama simply bursted onto the scene, went upto Salman and shouted at him for being so callous with his clothes. When Sallu threw her a black stare, she yanked him to a side, straightened the collar of the jacket that was upturned and rebuked him for wearing an untucked shirt! All this in front of a crew of 200 odd people..!
“While the entire unit was worrying as to what would the next move of the hot blooded Khan be, for some god sent reason, Salman let it go and recommenced shoot…” Radhika tell us. That night after wrapping the shoot, he went up to Mama & made friends with her. And while leaving for home, hugged her tight while gifting her a thick wad of notes!
Neat nah? The prize people get to squeeze the shirtless wonder into some clothes…
