What's so funny about it?” she asks, looking at us laugh away. It's not everyday that we get to hear a 32 year old say that her favorite read are comics. “I am a sucker for toons. No matter what, it always puts a smile on my face” It's a mood elevator and I love it!” she says curtly. Trust the Zintadil to surprise you with the most unexpected reply. Just a few days back, we discovered that Preity is a closet reader and are in conversation with the spunky actor about her favorite books… Unlike Kajol's fascination for books that the entire nation is aware, few know that Preity too makes for a voracious reader herself.
“Now if you are done with your ha-ha, you might want to know that books have been among the most influential tools in my life” she teases us. Trying to keep a straight face, we continue our conversation, 'So is there any particular book that she did recommend as a 'must-read'? “Don't know if it would do the same to others, but it definitely changed my perspective about life” she declares. And the miracle book is…”Ayn Rand's Fountainhead” she replies.
“My dad gifted me the book when I was in the 8th standard” she says. “Not that I made sense of it then but I loved the character of Howard Roark. He is a strong, able guy who overcomes big storms in his life. I loved that trait in him” she points out. “I must have read it several times over the years and each time I am filled with admiration for Howard for the way he lived life with steely determination & endurance” she points out. “I guess this should convince you that I can look beyond cartoons & comics? Just as we are about to agree, she interrupts, “Hey I think the miserly duck cartoon character, Uncle Spruge is so pig headed nah, what do you…”
As she is about to finish her sentence, she looks at us, our face has gone red laughing, “What the hell, I was just…oh forget it!” she gives up on us.
