Vivek & Esha with wild cats! Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, April 19, 2005 - 08:00 IST

“I couldn't have asked for better co-stars!” declares John Abraham. And no, he isn't taking about Vivek, Ajay, Lara or Esha. The spotlight is now on the gorgeous stripped creatures that are an integral part of Kaal. John popular for being an animal enthusiast admits to having a blast in the wilds. “To be in such close proximity with nature was a wonderful experience and the tigers you ask, extremely majestic, they generate such power, man!” he remarks.

In an exciting move, we got Vivek & Esha to tell us interesting bits of their tryst with the majestic man eaters

“We had no clue where the tiger had gone and from where he would emerge…”

“John till date teases me saying that, 'Vivek looked into the eyes of the tiger and fell in love'. Who wouldn't, they are a sight of sheer beauty” Vivek comments. “These are the same ones that were used in Gladiator” Vivek informs us. Any particular instance that got out of hand, we ask, “Well, there was this one time when during a shot, the tiger crossed his mark, lunged forward and landed on the hubcap. After crushing it like a wafer, he picked it up and ran into the elephant grass. Now this was almost nerve-wracking, because the grass being almost 12-15 feet tall, we had no clue where he had gone and where would he emerge from? We had our hearts in the mouth. Finally after a 15 minute long hunt, the trainers found him. Man, that was some experience!” he smiles.

“When I looked into the eyes of the tiger, I froze with fear. Forget screaming, I couldn't even squeak!”

Her dad, Dharamji too has done some stunts with tigers, right? “That's true” she agrees. The thought that I would be chatting with him about the same is what got me really excited. That egged me on to face the adventure” she makes a candid confession. So what was her experience like? “Memorable” she says in a go. “I remember, there was a shot which required us to make eye contact with the tiger, so that they think we are scared. The going was fine till the rehearsals, but when it came to the actual scene, I looked into the eyes of the beast and froze! I was so stricken by fear that, forget screaming, I couldn't even squeak. It scared the hell out of it! But the experience has been enormous” she smiles.
