By IndiaFM News Bureau, February 9, 2005 - 05:12 IST
This rookie wants to rule Bollywood. Romit Raaj is the latest munda who aims to make it big on the slippery sands of Bollywood. Will he, will he not, only time and box-office can tell, but IndiaFM wishes the lad luck as he talks about Hum Dum where he matches wit with his opponent in Bollywood's first film based on game show.
How did you land the role?
I was auditioned among others for the role and that's how I bagged the role.
How is Kushan Nandy to work with?
He has been extremely supportive of me. At times when I went wrong, he would guide me. Being an editor himself, he would not force us into long shots too. The shot breakup was small and crisp. All this made working a breeze. If I were offered to debut with 5 of the top directors, I would still pick Kushan. He has been tremendous.
What do you think of the story?
When I heard the story, I told myself, 'Meri kismat toh khul gayi'. I was being offered a love story that has a universal appeal. I personally think love stories are the best debuts because it attracts a huge number of people. Besides, the story had the backdrop of a game show, a never-before in Bollywood. The plot is a great combination by any standards.
What were your work vibes with Anjana?
Anjana was fun to work with. She has been sweet to me. Ranvir always brought a smile to our face with his wisecracks. Other senior actors like Tanvi Azmi and Shammi Aunty have wished us well.
Tell us about the music…
The music is fabulous. The album has 5 songs and trust me, there is not a single weak link in them. All the songs have good audio value.
What are your expectations from your debut?
Expectations are always high. I hope that the film does well. Today I am not a star but after the film releases; I am sure people will like my work. I hope to be in Bollywood for the long run.
