“Jurm is like a dream come true”- Bobby Deol Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, February 15, 2005 - 10:45 IST

Unlike most Bollywood actors who sign bulk projects Bobby Deol comes across as a breath of fresh air. Rarely does he have a series of films releasing in a year. Last seen in Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo, Bobby will now appear in Jurm. In this one-on-one with IndiaFM he speaks about why Jurm is special and about his inclination towards suspense thrillers.

What makes Jurm special?
Jurm is very special to me because Vikram, Ashish and me are childhood friends, since school we wanted to be into films and even in childhood we three made a film directed by Vikram and me and Ashish acting in it. So it's more like a childhood dream come true. I really cherish their friendship, so the film is very special to me.

You are coming on screen after so many days, where have you been and what have you been doing these days?
I was spending a lot of time with my family at home that too is important in life. I have two sons now; once you have children life becomes different. I love playing with them and giving them as much time as I can.

Tell us about your role in Jurm.
I play this very rich guy in the film who once at a party meets Lara and falls in love with her. They then get married and he loves her so much that he starts suspecting her every time she doesn't spend time with him. They keep fighting for no reason, and one day it gets a bit too much and he over drinks, when he wakes up he finds blood all over the place, and if you want to know more you will have to go and watch the film.

Your character seems to have gray shades?
Definitely my character has gray shades… but I won't reveal much. The audiences will know once they see the film.

Ajnabee was a suspense thriller and so is Jurm. Any special inclination towards this genre of films?
May be yes that's why I am doing so many suspense thrillers or like Lara jokes that I look like a killer.

How was the experience working with two Ms. India and a super model in the film?
Excellent, all of them are nice; all are very down to earth. Lara is a friend of mine, but with Gul and Milind this was the first time I was working. But all of them are so accommodating… that's the most important thing if your co-stars don't throw their weight around. Everyone has performed well; Milind has done a great job. So the experience was good, when we went outdoors, we used to go together for dinners. It was great fun, one big family.

What do you think of the music?
The music of the film is good, it is situational. I like the music of all my films. This one has two music directors Anand Raaj Anand and Anu Malik.

What are your upcoming films?
After Jurm there is Barsaat, Tango Charlie and Dosti.

What are your expectations from the films?
I hope that all of them do well; I hope even Jurm does well.
