The voluptuous VJ of MTV is squealing like a poodle and who is it that has got her excited? The rolly-polly David Dhawan! Now don’t get wrong ideas! Let us tell you that we are talking about Sophiya’s dream to once dance to a David Dhawan number!
David & dinchak dances!
“I have always wanted to do a David Dhawan number” smiles the siren. “Whenever I used to watch Govinda and Karisma dance to one of his bizarre numbers, I used to wonder what fun it must be! So here I am doing the David style dhinchak dance moves!” Sophiya tells us excitedly. So how did she get onboard? “Well, it was all so rush-rush. I remember Davidji calling me up one night informing that I was in his film and the next day I was at his office signing on the contract papers. And before I knew it, I was shooting for the film! It was a real surprise!” she exults.
Set to sizzle!
And what is the role that she has signed up for? “When Davidji sat me down to explain the role, he told me, ‘Sophiya, you sexy, spontaneous, classy and fun. This is a rare combination. So I want you to be yourself and not necessarily ‘act’ for my film’. This was his brief. Nevertheless, I play this young girl who is very lovely and will go to any lengths for the man she loves.

I have been wanting to join Bollywood for a while now. But was always cautious that I pick up the right project. And it feels great to know that your first Bollywood film is with the likes of David Dhawan and Vashu Bhagnani. Also what made it really special is the fact that I got to work with Sanjay Dutt who I been crazy about. Besides, Fardeen and Zayed are friends, so we gelled very well and the shooting was like a huge family outing. And the best thing about the film is the fun and energy that it has! It’s a mad-mad comedy and who doesn’t like a good laugh?” she asks.
