That’s what Arshad told the director of his film, Chocolate, Vivek Agnihotri. When the shoot of Chocolate commenced, Arshad’s wife had just delivered their son, Zeke. Cool name, nah? Hope the Jhumanis don’t mess with it!
Where were we, yes, Zeke had just arrived and Arshad being a doting dad was shuttling between studios and home to make time with his son. But shoots got hectic, hence the time that Arshad wanted to spend with his kid was dwindling. Unit hands recall watching Arshad share the mobile photos of Zeke with his co-stars until one day he was told that they were heading for a month long schedule in London. That’s when Arshad put a clause to Vivek that he would come along only if he could bring along Zeke and his mom. Vivek being a dear friend; agreed and soon the threesome were off to enjoy the chilly winter of London.
Incidentally, Maria and son Zeke made a friendly appearance in Arshad’s Salaam Namaste. Says director Siddharth Anand, “Maria and Zeke were in Australia and Arshad was shooting with us. The three cut such a cute picture; there was no way I was going to let them go”
