“I will be sexy even at 50…!”- Bipasha Basu

Dusky, daring and desirable. That's Bipasha Basu. Looking luscious in a sunny halter neck and white capris, Bipasha carves a picture of unapologetic sexuality. Not the one to mince words, this Bengali beauty is ruthlessly forthright be it friend or foe.
With Rakht and Madhoshi releasing back to back, it's almost as if theatres are celebrating a Basu film festival. In a two-part interview, IndiaFM takes the smoldering sexuality onto cyberspace, as we chat up the screen sizzler on topics ranging from sex and skin, casting couch and chemistry, recent releases and Rakht.
Bipasha, tell us exactly how bloody does Rakht get?
[Laughs] Very. You need to wait till the end when the blood mounts. But I promise, there is no gore. Rakht is very mysterious. And it gets scarier as the reels roll.
You play Dhrishti in Rakht. Tell us about her.
Yes, I play Drishti, who is a young widow with a 7-year-old boy. A tarot card reader, she lives in a small town. She is gifted with a vision to foresee future. And it's been the case since childhood, to the extent that it haunts her. And Drishti has to now tackle these visions in order to solve a mystery clouding her life.
Considering your sex-symbol tag, don't you think playing a mother is quite a gamble?
You are right. Despite playing a cop in Gunaah, a housewife in polo necks in Raaz or a collegian in Aetbaar, media has always labeled me a sexpot. Now it has stopped to bother me. Mahesh made me a fantastic offer and I enjoyed playing the role.

You don't have to be de-glamorous or unsexy just because you are a mother. My mother at 50 is just as sexy as a current glam doll. And I did like to believe that having a baby myself wouldn't make me any less sexy either!
One quick observation. Inspite of being labeled a sex-siren, you have managed to bag some meaty roles. It must be sure feeling great.
I am grateful that inspite of what the media absorbs of me, filmmakers continue to offer me good roles. It is a huge responsibility that I thoroughly enjoy. I also feel elated and fulfilled as an actress, as I get to do more each time. Sure, it is a great feeling.
Rakht is a multi-starrer. You are good friends with Amrita, Dino and Neha. So, shooting must have been more of a picnic than anything else.
Oh, the Rakht shooting was a blast. Coming from the same age bracket, we had a ball. We used to work & workout, talk and yak, drink and discuss together. I had lots of fun with the production team too. My make-up artist and stylist weren't spared either.
Dino is a popular prankster. Did he give you a hard time on the sets?
Ha! Dino can never give me hard time. Be it Aftab, Abhishek or Dino. I am a big bully on the sets and these pranksters invariably listen to me.
Zameen and now 'One Luv'. How is Abhishek to work with?
It was fabulous working with Abhishek. Young, fun, talented. I believe John and AB are going to be the 'Next Big thing…' They have the substance to make it as huge stars.
The music of Rakht is already a hit on the charts. Which is your personal favorite?
I like the 'One Love' track. Also, the Amrita number, 'Din Humara Hain' sounds good to the ear. 'Oh what a Babe' has been picturised very well.
