“I love my new hot look in Dhoom”- Rimii
By IndiaFM News Bureau, August 27, 2004 - 06:32 IST
From Euphoria's Mairee to Hungama and now Dhoom, Rimii is steadfast climbing the success graph. After shaking off her girl-next-door look in Hungama, she is now shaking her booty in the Dhoom track Shikdum… with AB baby.
In an interview with IndiaFM, the pretty face tells us about her funny character in the mobike movie of 2003.
First Hungama and now Dhoom. Rimii, your movies seem to make a lot of 'noise'…
[Laughs] Yeah. I think the reason for this noise is that I am particular about working with select people. Be it Hungama, Baghban, Dhoom, or my upcoming Boney Kapoor film, the banner is very important to me. And must admit, I am very lucky to have done a Yash Chopra movie this early in my career.
What is your character per se?
Oh, I play the role of Abhishek's wife, Sweety Chatterjee. She is a dominating wife. And the fun streak in her is that whenever she gets angry; Sweety begins to speak in Bengali. So it was a lot of fun doing the comic role.
How was it co-starring with Abhishek Bachchan?
Great. He is so much fun on the sets. Ditto Amitji, he's down-to-earth and very easy-going.
The guys get to ride cool bikes, taste thrills and do action, what do the girls do?
Agreed it's a male-dominated film, but all the characters are well etched out. So that gives both Esha and me to do something productive and try something new.
From the girl-next-door in Hungama to hot bod in Dhoom, what was the image change like?
I love my look in the film. It is essential that we have a new look every time. People should get a new Rimii in each film.
Since your character speaks a lot of Bengali, can we have a message in Bengali for the your fans on IndiaFM?
In Bengali? Okay…Shubhecha…Please Dhoom ke dekh bin. Kaal ke release, 27th Aug. We have worked very hard on the film. So do watch it. Dhoom dekh bin.
[My good wishes for IndiaFM. Do watch Dhoom. It's releasing tomorrow, 27th August. Make sure you watch it]
