She arrived on the scene with a highly popular video and till date remains the boom-boom gal. A popular ramp face, Anupama Varma continues her flirting with Bollywood. After Grahan, she was last seen in a cameo in Chameli.
Anupama chats up with IndiaFM on her latest release Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav where she plays a scatterbrain, Dolly.
The last we saw you was in a song in Chameli. Where have you been all this while?
I have been very much around shooting movies and selective AD assignments.
What is your role in Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav?
I play the character of Dolly. You'll see me sporting a different look in the movie. I am all jazzed up in the film. Also, I carry a short crop in the film, something that I haven't attempted on screen yet.
What according to you is the funniest track in the film?
While I play Dolly, actress Kunika plays my mom Polly. The mom-daughter equation is quite funny. Yeah, so I like the Dolly-Polly angle in the film.
How do you manage comedy?
I am pretty comfortable doing comedy. My friends think of me as a funny head. So, humor was no problem.
How would you sum the entire shooting experience?
Ah! It was fantastic. We had a huge cast and we shot all around Cape Town, South Africa. It was great fun.
The title is very wacky. What do you think of it?
I think it is hilarious. Initially we had to go about explaining that it wasn't about the particular person, but now it seems to be catching up. I personally think it's damn funny.
A message for Laloo Prasad Yadav…
I did like to say that you are amongst the most popular politicians that this country has seen. And this film is a tribute to your humor and wit!
