| A tabla player named Mridangrajji heard Javed Ali singing in someone's house in Mumbai where he would come right from his schooldays during summer holidays. He actually had telephoned someone up where Javed was singing and had noticed his voice. He then met Javed and made Kalyanjibhai listen to his voice on the phone. Kalyanjibhai heard him and suggested to his father that he remain in Mumbai where Kalyanbhai would even look after his education as well as all his needs and expenses.
